Considering getting one of these for my 2009 AC. I asked on wander the west but no one there has a Prinsu with a Four Wheel Camper. Anyone here have this set up? Just wondering if it will clear the camper with some leeway. It would suck to purchase and find out it doesn't fit.

That does not look like it will fit :/ The rack goes all the way to the end of the cab and it looks like your camper overhangs the cab.

*EDIT: I now see you have a new camper, not the flip pack. So no idea if it will fit UNDER your new camper but even if it does.. would you be able to store anything on it anyway? Or is it for when your camper isn't on?

I've seen rigs with shorter ones. Probably have to contact them directly

Edit: nvm, that's not the rig I'm thinking of. I don't have a picture tho

That looks like it will fit on his rig. His camper looks like the same height.

Why would you install a roofrack just to cover it up?

Thought the same thing when I saw those rigs. It's not like they had anything on the part not covered

I have the first one @perkj posted a link to. My rack should come in Monday. I hope to punch mine out then. If you want to PM me I’d be glad to ship it out to you. I don’t know what I’ll do with it after I’m done

Might have a few questions in how it went and your technique for measuring holes. I saw a post of someone using painters tape as a template. Might go that route. In the meantime I’m going to wrap my roof, but vinyl is held up on shipping because of holidays. Won’t be here until Monday.

    Thank you

For those of you wondering why I'd put a rack on and cover it up it serves two purposes. As you can see I have a Yakima wind fairing. I also have a light bar I want to mount and having the two in one would be great. With a pop-up camper having a wind fairing improves buffeting from high wind conditions while driving. Most of my trips happen in the desert and winds get fierce.

My camper does not live on my truck so the rack could get use at other times too. Then there's the idea I throw around of having a shell instead of a camper and if that happened the rack would get even more use. The side attachment points could also be utilized.

    Thanks for the supplied pic.

I got my rack installed today. Went without too many kinks. Very happy with it. However, I do have a question about the light bar. I’ve got it all wired up but I want to use a push button that fits in the OEM slot. Wiring is different. The current has a ground, power, and negative. The push button has four wires. Suggestions?

What brand is the switch? Air On Board? What about the light bar brand? I assume it uses a relay?

Show a pic of the back of the switch harness.

    This thread may help... https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/air-on-board-to-rigid.407987/#post-12718340

There should’ve been a wiring diagram/instructions with your switch... But on the switch you are going to have - 1. ground wire 2. power wire 3. relay wire - (those 3 will connect directly to the light bar wiring). The 4th wire on the switch is the wire that lights the switch LED and you will need an add-a-fuse or splice into another wire that is hot when the lights are on.

Awesome - That thread basically settles the score with it. I did a few searches but nothing came up the way I was hoping. I'll try that after work one day this week.

Sorry to blow the thread up - does anyone have any tips on how they ran their light at harness on the rack?

I had to run mine from the passenger side because the connector to the rest of the harness would be right in the middle of the A pillar otherwise. I can’t tie wrap it because my lightbar touches the crossbar it’s mounted to. Not sure if you can tell on the picture. I just taped it for the time being.

Not a light bar, but the coax to my HAM antenna is zip tied to a few crossbars then wedged into the gap between the A-pillar and the windshield. I tacked it down with some leftover clear silicone I had from the rack install. I don't see why you couldn't do the same in the cross channel. Hope that helps.

Zip ties look a little more professional compared to tape IMO.

I don't have the cutout for an LED bar, but does the windscreen with the cutouts still attach to an angled crossbar? I loosed the screws holding the windscreen on, then ran some zip ties behind the crossbar behind the windscreen then secured the wires under that crossbar (with the zip ties going completely around that angled crossbar) (then tightened down the windscreen pinching the zip ties). In the pictures of the windscreen with the cutout, there's some screws on the front of it, so I assume that attaches with an angled crossbar like my non-cutout one does.

edit to add: i also run a wire loom down the side of the windshield but I found some double sided gorilla tape at a auto parts store to secure the tube the wires run through.
