    Freakin' New Guy here.

Anyone around San Francisco/Peninsula area have any feedback for me?

This is not my primary vehicle to drive, but I've always wanted a taco for utility purposes.
2018 TRD sport, looking to swap out the factory wheels/tires for some 18" MTs
    https://www.realtruck.com/mickey-thompson-black-metal-series-mm-366-wheels/

    and BFG AT K02 tires.

I will not be putting too many highway miles and ZERO (recreational) off road miles on this thing. I'm building my bug-out/stay safe in case of occupation (national disaster) or quake/volcano/tsunami (natural disaster).

(Addendum 1113AM: off roading is not my hobby but I do plan to test this bad bitch out)

No roof rack selected yet. Please inform me as to quality options for roof rack/lights, bull bar/scoop with LED.

Also: Anyone use one of these?

Welcome dude, I'm just a little ways from you.

Interested in your bug out vehicle now since the taco is a utilitoy and you have another daily.

So how bad ass is the getaway rig?

Welcome! Great color.. but I'm biased.

    This makes me sad.

Just my opinion but if you a building a "bug out" rig, what better way to test its purpose and durability by running it through it's paces(both on road and off). Just in case SHTF you are prepared, and know how your vehicle reacts off the beaten path.

you're building a bug out vehicle, with natural disasters in mind, and expect ZERO off road?!?!? Doesn't seem likely, IMHO.

ADDENDUM: What I meant was, only in the name of testing it's capability will I be off-roading/womping/muddin'

Yes, I sure as heck will learn how to shift and turn and all that, I simply meant off roading is not my hobby. Mountain biking is.

Quicksand is tight, right? Were the 16 and 17 QS a little less shiny? More flat? I feel like the 18 QS I have has more of a sheen than before.

    Thanks!

See previous reply. I will test it and train for it, but it's not a hobby. My bad.

I love it. Hoping I pick the right wheels. I had MTs on my Tahoe, I feel it is a good choice for most trucks.
Just took it up and down Higgins canyon road in HMB. Paved road/windy/foggy sometimes. Got some good handling/turning practice. My previous vehicles were 95 Tahoe LT, 2004 Ram 1500, and Dakota SXT. All analog/American/Factory vehicles before this. Tacoma feels a little sluggish moving into 3rd gear but turns/steers/brakes better than the aforementioned rides.
