You talking about the bearing in the top/bottom of the shock? Those are fairly cheap and I just pound them out with a socket and hammer. At most a little heat and they pop out super easy, freeze the new bearing and it will slide in without tools. If you need new ends they are a little tougher but just clamp the shaft surrounded by wood, clamp so hard the shaft makes a U in the wood, use heat again and it will loosen the thread lock and come right off. At most you can buy a shaft clamp, bearing, and lower ends much cheaper than $300-400, but it can be done without even buying any special tools

Castor and camber can be set with the SPC arms. Set the cam bolts for max castor and forget about em.

I'm pretty sure you could fix that yourself if you get the parts sent to you - at least hit up @TMFF and see what he says.

Well they need rebuilt too, 125$ a shock, and I don’t wanna mess with that myself, not right now. I might mess with the bearing when I get home maybe, since you made me curious.

Have you seen this? It's really not hard - just watch the video and see.

I bought a micrometer and a vise for doing this to save some money over time and get to keep my truck up and running and tuned better more easily.

Oh man it looks so easy but so intimidating for some reason...

Is there just one seal? That’s all I recall from the video.

Where does a person even order stuff from? I've never been able to figure out how to order stuff off the King site, I dont think its an option.

There's the dust seal that is at the bottom and screws on to the body and the seal inside that moves the oil.

They've got great customer service if you call them. They'll give you part numbers for rebuild parts / kits you need. You can order it from them or most anywhere that sells King shocks. Downsouth Motorsports has parts, filthy motorsports would too I guess.

Downsouth Motorsports is really good. Seal packs are the same for bypass or coilover so you end up with a few extra seals, but its just a 2.5" seal kit part# 25000-900

Filthy definitely does, and is usually happy to help by way of email if you send them pictures and a decently detailed explanation. Unless it's mid summer getting to them by phone is near impossible though cause they're busy as hell haha

I was on the phone with them a bunch lately when I was figuring out what I was going to do with my front suspension :notsure:

Here's a direct email address for one of the sales guys that can give you part numbers if you can't get a hold of someone on the phone:

The hardest part will be taking the coils off, the rest should be cake. I didn't have shaft clamps and couldn't get my lower rod end off (needed two new shafts) but changing the spherical bearing (heim) itself is cake and you can do it with a hammer, socket and block of wood. The seal changing really just requires the right allen keys and some dental picks for getting the seals off.

I think my rod ends are done, way done, and I would probably take it to a shop to get spring off with their fancy spring compressor, if that's an option. If I'm looking at the right part Rod Ends are spendy, which kinda sucks...
