6'' fabtech lift on 35's

I'm looking at getting a 6'' fabtech and putting it on 35's i was wondering how this would effect gas milage........ how much it would lower it, i know my speedometer will be off by about 4 mph so i cant really use the odometer to tell, but i did talk to a guy at 4 weel parts and he said it would lower it 1 to 2 mpg so nothing 2 bad but i was wondering if anyone out there with this lift and tires could tell me what they get..... THANKS!!

 

I have a 3" lift and runnin 33's at 60 mph Im off about 4 mph. I dropped about 2 mpg with this set up, going with 6" and 35's I say you will lose about 5-7 mpg. You can always regear and get it back.

 

thanks man, i thought about re-gearing but from what ive heard that would make me loose power and torque but i guess i just have to choose between the power or the gas $, but thanks again

I thought re-Gearing will help with recreating the stock ride, therefore allowing the power to deliver as if you had stock tires???

 

to be honest i have no idea i dnt know much about the gearing but thats what one of my buddies that worked at a 4 weel place told me, so dont take my word for it

regearing will give you your stock power back and also help on gas, u will still lose 1 to 2 mpg becasue of all the extra wind resistance you will have.

 

I'll be paying $2100 for my 6" Fabtech in the next two weeks. The guy did'nt tell me anyting about regearing it so I think this is going to be my next question to ask. I'm going to put 16x10 Edge Magnum wheels and 35' Yokohama Geolander M/T, is what I like so far...Does anybody has this set up yet. I'll apreciate any advises? Thanks

 

I have the Fabtech 6" w/ 35's and didnt notice too much of a difference to spend money to regear. Dont get me wrong, you will know that there is a difference with those 35's on them.

Im suprised that you are gonna run 16's with them. Fabtech told me when i was doing research that the smallest i could go was 17's and that was pushing it.... just wanted to bring it up just in case

You really should re gear for 35's. Its just really hard on the drive train to be puling 35's on the stock gears.

 

Anyway, did you install the dirty logic shocks? I'm not planning to do any off road at all since I have a 4x2. How do u like it so far? Any regrets?

 

yea, he's right, you're a Prerunner so re gearing wouldnt cost you as much. hell i say go and re gear it

 

I would regear or not you probably wont get to 5th on the highway. Coming back from stockton today I was going 75-80 on level ground and it ran boost to keep up instead of downshifting, and thats with 33s.

 

I run 35's and dont have a problem getting into 5th. I do mostly hwy driving and my rpm's stays low still cruising around 70mph
