City cops here are like that. With really small letters on the windshield and almost color matched decals on the doors

Theres one city cop here that has the family stickers on the back window, but has the blue lights, criminal cage and you can see the laptop. I almost called it in for being an imposter but they had someone pulled over so I guess its legit otherwise other people would have called it in already....

Mom feared autistic son would be a burden. So she tried to saw his head off, Maryland cops say
    BY CRYSTAL HILL

    March 28, 2018 07:57 PM

    Updated 41 minutes ago

Kristina Petrie, 46, confided in staff at the Olney, Maryland hospital after she’d done the unthinkable, according to court documents.

The woman reportedly said she’d felt “overwhelmed” and wasn’t doing enough to help her children with autism. She feared both her sons would “grow up to be a burden to society,” WJLA reported.

When Petrie was asked why she was at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, she said she’d “tried to kill her kids again,” the news station said.

The March 12 incident happened after her 11-year-old son, who has autism, went upstairs to play video games after he got home from school, authorities said. His mother, armed with a bow saw, asked him why he wasn’t doing his homework, FOX 5 reported.

Then she allegedly raised the saw at the boy and chased him, WJLA said. After pinning him down, authorities say she “jammed” its teeth against the boy’s neck and moved it back and forth multiple times, according to the news station.

Petrie’s son managed to get away from her and get the bow saw, FOX 5 reported. He wasn’t badly injured, suffering some broken skin, scabbing and cuts, authorities said.

Petrie’s husband took her to the hospital, authorities said.

The Rockville, Maryland woman was charged with attempted first-degree murder and child abuse, according to court records. She’s due in court on April 20.

Her attorney told FOX 5 that his client didn’t intend to harm the child.

She’s among several other parents recently accused of abusing or neglecting their developmentally disabled kids.

Last December, a Utah father left his “intellectually disabled” adult son on the side of the road, authorities alleged. The man told police “he and his wife no longer want” their adopted son, a 36-year-old man with the mental capacity of a 2-year-old, reports said.

Two Brookfield, Wisconsin parents convicted of locking their autistic child in an unfinished basement with no toilet or sink told a judge earlier this month that they were overwhelmed by the 13-year-old girl’s tantrums, FOX 6 reported.

“I had no idea how to take care of an autistic child,” said Alicyn Keller, the child’s mother.

When you're running from the cops and pick the *wrong* place to hide...

Ex-Marine captures suspected serial burglar who hid in his garage

An alleged serial burglar, who led Fayette County authorities on a high-speed chase through three counties, was caught sneaking into a former Marine’s home last week, Clayton County officials said in a news release.

Christopher Belgrave held Joseph Skinner at gunpoint until officers arrived.

Skinner was arrested last week following a chase in Fayette and Henry counties that ended in Lovejoy, officials said.

Skinner drove behind Belgraves’s home and hid in his garage, scaring the man’s wife as she walked to her car, Clayton County authorities said. Skinner followed the woman as she ran back inside her home, screaming her husband’s name.

But to his surprise, Belgrave opened the door and aimed a gun directly at Skinner, who was turned over to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Belgrave was honored by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office for his heroism.

Bravo. When faced with an unarmed intruder he didn't shoot him, but was ready to in case the situation warranted it. Not sure I would have exercised the same restraint.

    You mean like this:

Both pilots 'slept' for an HOUR as packed airliner flew on for 600 miles

An airliner with 144 passengers onboard flew 600 miles as its pilots slept at the controls for more than an hour, it was claimed yesterday

The pilot and co-pilot are believed to have nodded off as the plane flew on autopilot at 37,000ft, causing it to overshoot its destination by 150 miles.

In the meantime, F-16 fighter jets were readied to escort or even shoot down the jet over fears it had been hijacked.

After a tense hour and 18 minutes of radio silence contact was finally made - and the Airbus A320 from San Diego in the U.S. landed safely in Minneapolis, with its passengers blissfully unaware of the drama.

The pilots insisted they had been engaged in a 'heated' argument about airline policy.

By the time their 'discussion' had ended - or they had woken up - the plane was 150 miles off course and flying over the neighbouring state of Wisconsin.

Instead of being above Minneapolis, population 380,000, it was instead over the town of Eau Claire, population 61,000.

When it eventually landed at Minneapolis police and FBI agents stormed the plane, ordering passengers to remain in their seats while they went to the cockpit.

Reassured that there had been no security breach, the passengers were allowed to leave.

One, Andrea Allmon, said nobody knew anything was wrong.

'Everybody got up to get their luggage, and the plane was swarmed by police as we were getting our bags down from the overhead bins,' she said.

She added that they were kept on the plane briefly while police talked to the crew.

Mrs Allmon said she was ' horrified' to learn what had happened and it was 'unbelievable to me that they weren't paying attention. Just not paying attention'.

Officials said controllers had tried repeatedly to make contact with Northwest Airlines Flight 188.

Airline officials had also tried to raise them through a secure link to the cockpit, but had failed.

The U.S. National TransportationSafety Board has admitted it is looking into pilot fatigue as the reason for the overshoot on Wednesday.

The cockpit voice recorder and flight data from the 'black box' are being examined by aviation officials to determine what happened.

Both pilots, who have not been named, have been suspended pending an investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration and the NTSB.

An FAA spokesman said the situation grew increasingly alarming from a safety and security standpoint as the pilots could have been in distress or the plane hijacked.

'When you aren't speaking to a commercial airliner, that's a big issue for us,' he said.

'We see them on the radar, but not being able to talk to them is a problem.' Aviation experts poured scorn on the pilots' story that an argument had distracted them.

John Nance, a former airline pilot, said there was a 'less than 1 per cent' chance that the crew were not asleep.

'This is unprecedented in terms of being so unaware of where you are and what you're doing,' he said. 'This is virtually off the charts. The far more likely explanation is they fell asleep.'

William Voss of the Flight Safety Foundation, an independent research body, said: 'This is an extraordinary, unusual case.

'I can think of very few times in recent history where we have seen this type of really extreme overflight.'

Delta Airlines, which owns Northwest, said in a statement that it was co-operating with investigators as well as conducting its own internal inquiry.

'The pilots have been relieved from active flying pending the completion of these investigations,' a spokesman added.

It would not be the first time a flight crew have dozed off in flight.

Last year two pilots from Go! Airlines on a flight from Honolulu to Hilo in Hawaii fell asleep for at least 18 minutes while in the air.

The plane flew past the airport and out to sea before air traffic controllers reached the pilots, who turned the plane around.

The captain later was diagnosed with a sleeping disorder.
