How much did the install set you back? I just got a hood decal that just got here Monday, and I’m trying to decide if I trust myself to do the install.

Removed chrome exhaust tip and changed chrome lug nuts to black ones

It was really easy. The little pry tool kit helped keep my heavy-handed self from doing any damage.

Sure, I'd really love to do a full on custom install with subwoofer, amp and the works.....but the mad money toy funds just aren't there now. This tweeter upgrade, however, was simple-fast-low cost. The results were pleasing and I'm actually very happy with the sound of my basic system. I haven't even bothered doing the door speakers....which will be my next sound project.


I bought from Amazon, however, you may find them cheaper from a Subaru parts dealer. Here's the box with all the part numbers for you to reference.






The little plastic tool kit from Amazon was only a couple bucks and really proved useful.

Same connectors....simple as it gets.

I did disconnect the battery prior to doing this as that pillar cover exposed an air bag and I didn't want to have that thing deploy and make me spill my coffee.....

Can I get a link to the black exhaust tip or how you did it? Thanks looks great it has always bothered me the way it looks.

 

There is a basic and full kit...went for the full kit. But didn’t use the entire kit...there are pieces that go all around the vents and over the vent faces themselves and a complete piece to cover the stereo head as well but it would just be to much.

Don't know much about the TRD skid plate but don't think it's reinforced?
It weighs 32lbs vs steel 65lbs. Will try to get distance pic later.
