My First Battery had a bad cell from the factory. I went to the dealership and they checked it and replaced it with a "top of the line 84mo toyota battery". I'll keep my fingers crossed.

My battery just died after 16 months. The dealer Warranty replaced it with out to much of a headache.

For what it's worth, my long time mechanic told me this several years ago about batteries.

"Most of the common batteries sit in shipping centers for a year or two, or more, before they end up at the local car parts store. So by the time Joe Public goes into AutoZone and buys a battery, it's "new", but is likely already 2+ years old from a manufacturing point, and has been sitting on a shelf degrading for a long time. So you put it in your car, and are lucky to get another 2 - 3 years out of it."

He also told me that it is his understanding that Interstate (and likely other top quality batteries, like Odyssey) are shipped to dealers almost immediately after manufacture, and are therefore only a couple months old when you buy and install them.

I personally can't confirm his claim, other than to say that from only my own experience, I have always gotten 5+ years from the Interstate batteries I have had in previous vehicles.

Batteries are a crap shoot now days. Lots of electrical loads on new vehicles don't help the situation much.

Many batteries had a cell that would go out prematurely it seems.
I was one of them after 14 months.
Dealer replaced no charge in 10 minutes.

I think it will draw power, even when the phone isn't hooked. But perhaps not enough to drain your battery in two weeks.

I'd detach your sPod and run a multimeter between your battery and the devices hotwire to see if you have a phantom current running sneaking somewhere. (Don't ask me what setting on the meter.)

I'd make sure there isn't a draw coming off that before you replaced the battery. Or shortly afterwords.

Have the battery checked, that way you will know if it just drained,or is actually bad.

My battery went bad after 4 months. Took it to the dealer and they replaced it under warranty due to a bad cell in the battery.

Will take the trickle off after work tonight and check battery voltage.
Will start and check alternator ouput. And go from there
