There's no money to be made in the death penalty. Keeping guys in prison forever brings in the $$$ though.

I'm anti-death penalty because I actually think that being locked up in a 8x5 cell for the rest of your life is true torture and the death is the easy way out. Also, if the criminal has repented his crime to god, does he still go to heaven?.. I'm mean for those that believe in that stuff. So why would you want to send the criminal on a vacation to heaven so soon?

Also, I'd like to know of those that are pro death are you also pro life??? Because I feel that you cannot be pro life and then say kill that son of bitch, because isn't one of the chants by the pro life crowd is "A life is a life." Because if you are a true pro life then you must be anti death penalty.

That is fucked up.. as for the 16 yo partying with a fake id and looks older than 16.. case should be thrown out.. sorry sad but true.. if the person wants to pretend to be 21 and has an ID that says 21.. then they should be taken as 21..

And as for the 18 yo w/ 16 yo.. if it was a one time thing that would be hard to prove either way.. but if they have been dating and the 18 yo wants to move on to a new partner the 16 yo def shouldnt be able to pull the statory rape card.. because you were fine with it last week when he/she was your boy/girl friend.. but now they want to bang your friend.. GTFO

I say no to 4 because what if it takes longer than 60 days to prove someone innocent. If they didn't actually commit the crime.

If they are innocent then they should be able to prove it in court... im not saying 60 days from when they killed the person.. unless there are obvious witnesses.. but after the trial.. side note trials should not be like 5 years after the crime

Got'cha. But you know, every once in a while you hear about somebody getting out of jail because of forensics or something like that. After spending like 20 years locked up.

True, sickos will still be sickos. However, you will remove the repeat offenders if you kill them the first time around. Lets face it, anyone who messes with kids is sick. If they're let out of jail, they'll still mess with kids. They never get rehabilitated. They need to be killed the first time around to protect society. There was a kid killed in my area last month by a cab driver who had a history of child molestation crimes.

He had served his time, and been let out. If we had executed the bastard the first time, we would have saved that kids life.

I smell response bias in the wording of your poll... could there be a loaded question somewhere in there?

What's the old saying, "Better a thousand criminals go free than one innocent man suffer"? Sounds good but to tell you the truth it's probably better that one innocent man be sacrificed for the good of society than to let 1000 criminals back out into society. That is, unless I'm that one man. I doubt that I'd be as noble as Socrates when faced with a trumped-up death sentence, I might even figure that if they were going to try to kill me for something I didn't do then I'd by golly try to take a few of them out with me in the process -- then I'd have a few companions on the old "Happy hunting grounds."

All joking aside, there are some people whose actions dictate that they simply should never be allowed back into society. The problem with giving these people life sentences is that they remain a danger to both the people who guard them and to lesser criminals who might actually stand the chance of being rehabilitated.

I was watching "to catch a predator" last night. These guys only got like 45 days in jail! WTF?! and one fo them already had a court date the next week for the same thing! These are the guys that should get one between the eyes.

My grandmother was murdered by a 14 year old kid who thought she had money hidden in her house. I think that qualifies me to comment-

The victim's family should be given the right to carry out the death penalty.

I love when somebody tries to compare killing a rapist, murderer, etc to abortion. You really do not see the difference?

What I dont understand, is if the person being put to death gets sick, they postpone the execution until they are feeling better...does this make any sense?

I say it should be used in all states.
I think it should certainly be used for people that violate children. Let the family carry it out.
I don't like the idea of life in prison. What is the point? Read next line thats the reason.
I certainly wouldn't want an innocent person to be killed/murdered. But as I am sure stated before people lie and courts do make mistakes.
But in cases where they confess or it is captured on film the death sentence should be carreied out ASAP.

Oh and I would rather send them on a vacation than pay for them to live the next 25yrs on my dollar. Oh and shoot them it is cheaper than paying for electricity or gas. Shoot them and give them no medical attention. Like putting down an animal.

We shouldn't have to pay to keep them around. Kill them and the death penalty for sexual crimes against children should be done.
