    Manual or automatic? The stock 3.73s in my autistic weren't ideal for the 33s, but worked well enough.

    Lol that's nuts.

    We do terrestrial LiDAR, and it's pretty interesting. The real appeal of land surveying to me is boundary reconstruction. Texas is a vast state with a unique history. It's fun to me to dig into that history to determine the intent of generations past.

    Lol you get a survey done around here, all they do is walk to the original orange steel stakes in the ground, mark them with gps, go on Google Earth , connect points, and print it out. They don't check anything, not how many chains one mark is supposed to be and on what magnetic heading. It is a joke.

    Can we borrow some equipment? I have pretty decent GPS tracks for the trails at Barnwell and plenty of DEMs and Ortho pics but LiDAR could allow me to make amazing maps of the place.

    I made an app last year but it required cell service which isn't always good out there

    We call that being a professional measurer, not a professional surveyor. I love it when cheap outfits make things difficult for the rest of us... some folks cringe at my firm's quotes for private boundary work and most of the public doesn't understand the value of a proper survey.

    Lucky! Wish I had found a manual when I bought my truck.

    I don't think that's a feasible effort given the amount of time needed for data collection and processing. It's our busy season now too.

    This needs to happen...

    At least have a free app that doesnt' require cell service to operate.

    I used one when i went to Tennessee for ATR that used GPS in the phones and it worked really well and the maps were pretty well done, only got lost once and that was my own doing.

    Edit: It was called Offroad Trail Guide.

    How hard would it be to get have better maps done of Barnwell that could be printed out?

    @hoarder23 ?
