I think the “fad” part of it is dying which is fine by me. Makes it easier for people who will use them to acquire.

It's the people who like the idea of camping and like taking pictures and sharing the pictures but don't actually like the camping and being outside itself.

there pricy, there still a tent made out of fabric meaning they only last a few yrs before needing repairs that cost more then my ground tent new, pain in the ass if you have little ones, prego wife or pets, not fun if you get to drunk or just old and have to wake up to pee multiple times. cant stand up in it. other then that there awesome.
also the major reason I don't have one is it would have to stay on my truck as I have no place to store it.

They're high on the hassle factor. All the reasons you listed are the reasons I don't have one as well.

What I've been doing lately is I open my awning, put a tarp under it, sleeping pad on top of that and just sleep on the ground.
I might add a mosquito net at some point.

I like that idea. Although that still has its limits.
I camp in campgrounds a few times a yr were that wont work. But for off road camping that would work well.

Yup, yup. Sometimes you just want a roof (or tent) over your head for privacy etc. Also, if it's snowing you'll get wet.

Eh, not that they're 'not cool' anymore. I loved mine, but moving onto bigger and better things.

You should've bought mine when I had it for sale, I would've hooked you up.

spoken by someone who doesnt have one. I have had zero issues nor hassles with mine. Its quite convenient. Wife loves it and keeps me far warmer than a ground coleman.
