I'd actually take the bike out in this

 

I prefer to wait for a good rain to wash away the extra sand off the roads. Make me feel safer.

 

Certainly less risk of a surprise lowside halfway through a corner.

 

Probably be a while yet here, I still have a foot of snow in my yard!

 

yep, and I don't like surprises on the Bike. I have to constantly remind myself to take it easy as is.

 

I don't ride hard enough on the street that I've ever worried about it

 

I don't ride hard on the street either but I've had my share of butt puckering moments due to either sand or leaves. One of the worst is the line striping in NY. They put glass beads in an epoxy paint so it's really, really slick when it's wet, especially at cross walks where it's a thick line right in the drive lane.

 

Anyone here done the 2” fender cutting with oem flares to give me more room for big tires?

 

I’m like you. I don’t care if it’s warm and dry, until the salt is washed away the toys don’t come out.

I’m eager to just get the cover off of it honestly. It needs some work and the new head unit installed but otherwise it’s ready to go. Chomping at the bit.
