Good luck with your journey. My brother-in-law is an Officer in Escondido. I would see if any others in the academy also need housing and rent something together. Maybe someone in the academy has a room you could rent. Living there will give you more time to study and practice techniques with others in the academy.

yeah, i was thinking that route also. probably going to try to get my dad to let me move in with him for the academy. he's in the department and lives about a mile from the substation. hopefully he can help me study lol.

biggest issue im running into right now is trying to get a copy of my high school diploma. i never got a copy of mine because i was in the army before i ever saw it, so im on a goose chase with the high school trying to get a copy before i turn in the background paperwork on the 4th

The training exercises were "touch and go." I got to do 5 passes. Some simulated loss of power and flap failure. As you can hear on the radio, the cars basically communicate to the pilot how far they are from the runway.

 

Not a bad way to make a living!

After that I was able to squeeze in a round of golf. Disc golf that is.

 

I need to learn this sport...
