For those of you who use a Traeger grill and have for some time...have you tried any of the recipes found on the site? If so, what are some of your favorites? If not, where do you get your inspiration?

I've used this one and it turned out fantastic: https://www.traegergrills.com/recipes/beef/corned-beef-and-cabbage

Gonna make these two for Easter Sunday:

I’ve used the Traeger recipes to get ideas for making my own food and trying to get ballpark cooking times for planning purposes. Beyond that, I find they are too complicated and rely on their proprietary seasonings and sauces way too much.

Agreed! We've got a local spice shop that carries nice rubs for all different meats. I use the Traeger recipes for ballpark times and measurements, but I haven't used any Traeger rubs or sauces.

    Recipes, what are those?

    Lol.

I normally just slap some rub on my meat and put it in the smoker until it’s done.

Hell yes. Keep it simple and let the meat show through.

This is what I did when I first got mine. Looked up some of the recipes to figure out cook times and general temps. Now that I've had it a while I just rely on my instincts for those and use my own brine/spice/rub preferences. I have thought about trying some of the baked goods recipes from their site though.

Okay...I have some raw pig jowl bacon, already sliced...wanna smoke it on the Traeger.

Can I run the Traeger for about an hour in the smoke cycle to get some smoke added and then bump the temp up to cook it? Lookin' to add it to some pinto beans.

    Later.

He’s in his own kitchen. As long as he keeps his balls out of the marinara then who cares.

You wear a hairnet at your place?

Nope and I don't have a beard. And I don't have a utube channel. Like I said, I was just trying to be helpful. I do however, put my balls in my home made marinara. The vid is only 9.95. ;)

OK, how about 50 buyers? $899. Price is also plus tax if applicable, plus shipping. Only available on VHS. My Betamax took a dump and I haven't found a repairman... yet.

Yes, you can. When I cook bacon inside, I cook it around 400-425. That hour long smoke will be awesome and the Traeger can get that hot, too. Just keep an eye on your temps; my Traeger’s internal thermometer reads way too high.
