I made sure to get the URD gaskets for the URD ypipe. Just wondered if there was a better header-to-head gasket then OEM. Sounds like OEM is adequate.

I can't use the URD ones because I port matched the URD header collector flange to the id of the collector. URD's won't work anymore so I use these. They work great but are one time use only.20180203_222204.jpg

So, what do I do about this? Just hold it in place as I drop it it? I have horrible visions of of the gasket being sucked into the intake...

Some people don't run it, I personally run it and siliconed it in place so it wouldn't move.

OK, thank you. It has oil all over it. I don’t think I’ll ever get it to stick with silicone. I think I’m just going to set it aside for now and address it later.

See if I can get a clean replacement and put it back in some other time.

You definitely want to run it! Without it some air will bypass the intercooler so you will have hotter air entering the engine. I used this on mine.15223748658258201584114475952711.jpg

Yep just two wires, though I do suggest soldering them. The plug wires will appear thinner gauge than the OE ones and they are, of course the reason for that is because the wiring for the new plugs (assuming you ran the Mercedes ones) are silver strand and you could run thinner gauge silver strand yet still get the same output in comparison to thicker copper wiring.

I believe it is our heat exchanger which is the bottle neck in our blower systems. The intercooler is plenty suffice.

Those people just piss me off.

Yeah, when I began doing research for a higher flowing pump I was looking at all the graphs and all the most popular pumps. Then I ran into this one which was a popular upgrade mod amongst CTS-V owners, as well as the Mercedes owners and they had nothing but good things to say about it. I think there were even some bucket fill video tests done on these vs. The ones provided with the blower. You could see the difference for sure.

I did some serious in depth research when I started considering the pump upgrade mod.

OK, Blower back on, 7th injector bolted down, and @Roostfactor pulley wrap kit installed.

I really like the pulley wrap kit. It bolts right on, is adjustable, an looks like it’ll do just what it’s meant to. What more could you ask for? Well done John

And thank you @loginfailed , for letting me have the one that was meant for you, so I could get it installed right away.

Tomorrow night, I need to plug in the expansion harness, wire the 7th, and finish installing the intake. Then, new tune with Scott Sat.

    If all goes well...

It’s going slow. Mostly because I work slow... But it’s tough to get stuff done a couple of hours at a time.

I’ll probably Be in the garage until Sat morning.

Thanks for the kind words, glad you like it! Make sure the idler pulleys aren't touching each other (it looks close but not touching) and that the idler is not rubbing on the bracket. It should be close but not touching if you used 4 washers on the backside.

There should be an experiment testing temp coolant leaving the intercooler with a TRD heat exchanger vs aftermarket. I’m thinking the results would be negligible cause the intercooler is so small and heat soaked. I’ve been wrong before though

Did you obtain all the items for that pulley wrap mod from one place? I have been meaning to do it as a cheap insurance policy, but my time has been absolutely occupied with another aspect of my life lately.

No I didn't. Pulley from Rockauto, 1x1/8" stainless bar stock, m8x1.25x30mm flange head bolt, m8x1.25x40mm flange head bolt, washers for backside of pulley, and washer ground down for the front of the pulley.
