let me know if you hear any rattle. i have mine mounted to the head rail and i dont hear anything. Im curious if it makes a difference with them mounted to the side.

 

It did rattle, but I had this 1/4" thick rubber that is adhesive on one side that I cut to fit and applied to where the mount touches the bed side. That fixed the problem.

 

Cool thanks. I wonder if i could do anything to prevent the rattle.... Probably not, i think its the angle of the bed sides that cause it....

 

It does seem to be the angle of the bedsides. The rubber fills in that gap and stopped the rattle for now. True test will be when I get it offroad.

 

Hey Zac. I need a mount to attach my 1gal Rotopax to the bedrail.

I was going to just use the mounting bracket it came with....but it would have to be attached in a way where the gas pack would vertically stick up over the bedside and look funny.

It's there any way I could get you to drill 2 holes vertically in the bed rail mount for my Rotopax hardware to attach to?

That would let me attach the mounting hardware so the Roto Pax would lay horizontally along the bed rail.

I could give you the separation measurement tonight.

These look good, and would be great for bringing a shovel and axe on camping trips! Will be keeping these on my ever-growing list of "must haves" for the truck!

 

for those using these for their waterports, what are your thoughts on this? Need mounting ideas for in my bed under my shell.

 

yeah i can hook you up. I have a rotopax plate at the house that i can use to drill out the holes in some universal mounts.

I was able to mount a rotopax on the bed side with the universal mounts, here is a photo so you see how it worked out.
