Friday I go to a Chevy Dealer to get a part for a friend. (Problem #1). Now this parts dept looks like it hasn't been updated/renovated since the 60s, but its the biggest chevy dealer around. So anyway, part is in stock, I ask if there is any issues with returning part. Parts guy tells me no as long as its in original packaging & return policy is on receipt. Ok, no re-stocking fee, its not a special order or electrical part so I'm good to go. I pay cash, which is noted on the receipt.

Today I return the part for we ended up not needing it (same problem #1) Same part guys is there & says ok, give me your address we will mail me a check. I politely remind him that I paid in cash, not a check & would like cash or a voucher so I can go up to another cashier in the building (this place is huge) to get my $$$. Nope, no can do! I ask him to check his register which he does to appease me & says there is not enough cash to give me $80 back. I ask him to credit my debit card, he says he doesn't know how to do it & no one else is around this time warp of a place. He takes my addresses, hands me a receipt, and tells me to check will be in the mail. Unfrigginbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, I usually use my debit card all the time, but happened to have cash that day & have never ever had a problem getting cash back, usually its a delay when you use a card. WTF???? I'm irritated & freak out a bit by wacked out car dealer parts dept. The dude fit right in too. Now its tick tock wait for this wacked process to complete. ARGGGGGGGHGH:frusty:

I asked if there was a supervisor & he said he was it & did mention going off somewhere to get me a check but it might "take a while" with no guarantees how long it would take for the office people would determine that?? It is was odd odd odd & honestly, the whole place was weird! I do have a receipt which shows my return & amount due to me pending the check getting cut.

I thought about stopping up at the sales room but just couldn't see myself walking into a chevy sales floor.

Yup that was classic & gross as hell!! Those dudes are crazy. Can't say I would do that at all, its just not me  I did have to leave tho before I said something I regretted. Always amazed at those folks who can hold their composure while saying how dissappointed they are. Me? I start getting sarcastic as hell and as Jack Nicholson said to Adam Sandler in Anger Management, Sarcasm IS anger's ugly cousin!

Reminds me of the Three Biggest Lies:
    1. Your check is in the mail
    2. No sir, I didn't sleep with your daughter
    3. I swear, it's only a cold sore

Hope you actually get your check. I've had to stay on top of a few dealerships about getting a check for the money they owed me. One place I had to sit in the finance managers office and refuse to leave until they cut me a check.

Give it some time....I dunno, a few weeks. Contact the dealership again about the refund. ASK someone if there's ANY indication that the refund is *in process*. LIke do they have this on-file anywhere?

If you continue to get the run-around..... tell them you're gonna contact the BBB (Better Business Bureau). See if that gets any results.

If it doesn't....then file a complaint with the BBB.
I've used BBB a couple times before. They take complaints like that and they can actually get your money back.

Xedge, I forgot to ask. Which one of the few Chevy dealers in VT did you go to so I know which ones to tell my Chevy driving friends to stear clear of? Hopefully not Aldermans in Rutland since I bought my Tacoma from thier Toyota branch.

Castleton, not too far from Rutland, do most of my work in Rutland though. I've heard bad things about Shearer Honda down here in Rutland. I've also heard bad things about Aldermans but the drive to Berlin City wasn't going to be worth it with my old truck. Don't know how far Middlebury is from you but I hear good things about Shea Motors
