I'm doing my best to avoid the sednetary lifestyle. Got approved for a stand up desk, and I'm always outside haha. I appreciate your experienced viewpoint though, I'll watch out for all that stuff!

It is typically cushy, but today was fun, because of the time crunch (shipping units tomorrow) I went to the shop and did the work the shop guys do to get the job done. Just measuring out and mounting some stuff, but they aren't used to engineers who can actually use tools haha

The mistake I made was I had my template too low. If it's too low the upper part of the snorkel will hit the fender before the A piller, thus the studs closest to the bend won't be able to get threaded on. I remedied this by literally re-drilling holes above of where I had already drilled holes. Also, I did all my holes at 5/16, but 3/8 is what it needed. Lastly, had trouble taking my inner fender liners out, so I just ripped them off. In hindsight, I shouldve taken more time, and nicely taken them off. then drill little holes next to the existing holes so I can re attach with zip ties. I might do this anyways since I don't plan on going 35s anytime soon!

That is funny, but yea man you are right there is def a disconnect with what some guys are familiar with tool wise vs others its like they never held one before.

I think I was more scared to cut my fender with a jig saw, than drilling a 4" hole for the snorkel..

This is the way to go. Wife is a military doctor and my in laws just sail around on their sail boat in the Caribbean, and her 94 year old grandma just hands out money every time we visit :spending:

Of course this is all just an extra perk to marrying the woman of my dreams.

Erik - did you order the other hoses/elbows that connect the snorkel to the intake?

I like them. They never liked me at the start. But I think I’m beginning to grow on them. Lol.

Academically, my wife was top of her class. I on the other hand, was way down in the bottom.

I kept sneaking their teenage daughter out of their house in the middle of the night. I think they thought I was doing horrible things with her. But in reality, we just hung around and talked and laughed.

I think my wife should go to them and clear the air after 40+ years of them thinking I was a delinquent. :)

You two are high school sweet hearts? That’s pretty amazing. Don’t hear very much of that. Luckily my in laws were both naval academy graduates so me being navy helped a whole lot, even if I’m just a dirty enlisted type lol

Yup. The problem was that I was in an all boys high school and she was in an all girls high school.

That only meant one thing. A LOT of sneaking around. Lol.
