I did drive to Tyler to watch @Zac of all trades' rear end get worked on. It's a haul but I got to go wheeling at BMRA so it was worth it!

 

According to an overheard conversation last year at the stockyards, Weatherford now has Chick-fil-a, so there is that.

 

Isnt weatherford like 1/2 way to BBNP. I've passed through there maybe 3 times so far but never stopped except for maybe gas.

 

Someone I was talking to today said he sold his 2012 4x4 Tacoma in 2015 because the ball joints were bad, and it would cost him $2500 to have them changed out...

Also, he’s now very happy with his F150 with ecoboost.

 

Lower ball joints are considered unserviceable by Toyota, you have to change the LCAs. Both sides would be about $800 retail and depending on what else was getting changed I could see 17 hours of labor being charged. It's stupid but not an unlikely figure. I'd do it for $1000. It would cost me about $100.

 

It would take 8.5 hours per side to get LCAs out and back in?

Took me about 2 hours and 100.00 to do my lca’s. That’s with some beer and pizza breaks.

You can find the lca’s on Amazon warehouse for about 50.00 each. Just FYI for anyone wanting new ones.

 

I tried to grind my damn finger off grinding some bolts down...

The bolt head slipped off the grind wheel and in my finger went. I was wearing gloves but it was so damn fast i was pretty surprised at how much it ground into my finger! i put some electrical tape over the hole in the glove to get a few more miles out of the gloves! haha

This is pretty fresh. Only a couple minutes after it happened. No blood! Weird...

Debride it as soon as you can to get all the dust and grinding material out, then clean it really well. Those can get infected easily. Ouch.

 

Hecho en China. We get fun parts every so many sometimes.

 

I work for an aerospace fasteners manufacturer, and there’s always some parts in every (100k-piece) lot that a tap will skip out on, and need to be sorted out at the end. I can easily see how one can be missed in sort by a $10/hr employee.
