Plastic Clip - PN 67771-58010

FYI, if any of you remove your door cards you need to also remove the little triangle plastic piece on the inside opposite of the mirror. This triangle piece is held by 3 plastic clips. You just pull it off. However, the clips stay on the door and when you try to re-install the plastic cover, you may find that the clips push in and fall into the door. If they do, you will not be able to recover them. That area where the mirror attaches is basically sealed. The clips will not fall to the bottom of the inside of the door.

Ask me how i know.

Anyway, stopped by my local dealer and got replacements. Part No. 67771-58010. They are $3 each.

$3 each??? that should for like 100! I just did my speaker swap last night and was VERY careful with these and didn't lose any thank god since they bend you over for them!!

 

Thank you, i had the exact same issue. And i hate that they are just going to be rattle items stuck in there that i can't retrieve. I was actually going to go to the Toyota dealer this weekend to ask them for the part # and three replacement clips.

 

You can remove the door speaker.... 4 10mm bolts...

 

I did. They do not fall down into the door. They remain up in the crease where the sheet metal is formed for the door. about 2" below the little holes they fit in.

 

Ok never mind. Good to know if I lose one.

 

Nice, thanks for the link... I literally just broke one and lost one in the door doing speaker swap. I had just said f-it and stuck a little double sided tape behind there, but now i ordered these

This just happened to me. I had already put door back together and removed everything again to try and get from bottom but as you stated they don’t fall down.

The trick is when they stay in the door, remove them with a pick tool, very carefully, because they are easy to push through, as we know. Once you get them out, reattach them to the door, or panel side and then re-install the panel. Otherwise, you try and push the panel into them while they are in the door etc, and they pop through and you lose them.

 

Yep, found out the hard way when doing Kilmat sound deadener. But got them much cheaper on Amazon.

 

Same. Only lost one, saw what was happening trying a second time, and learned my lesson.

 

I ordered some from Amazon. They are very thin not nearly as thick as the OEM clips! Luckily i didn't lose any stock clips. They look like they will work but not sure they will last long or stay tight.

 

Just happened to me after installing new rear speakers. I was just about done, snapping the last panel in place, then I heard the pachinko noises inside the door. Damn it!
I did manage to fish one out, because I was worried about rattling. The other is gone into the void.
For those in the same boat, they are even cheap here but you have to wait for shipping. In my case, I can wait.

I dropped all three of the clips in the door yesterday while installing new speakers... It would bother me for all eternity if I just left them in the door so I'm here to share what worked for me to get them out.

Take the three stickers covering the mirror bolts off of the area that the plastic panel covers and remove the mirror.
From the outside of the door, get a flashlight and locate the clips (they're only an inch and a half or two deep).

If you're lucky, you might be able to fish them out with angled tweezers or a vacuum cleaner. DON'T DROP THE TOOL IN THE DOOR. I did, it's a massive PITA to get out but you can do it if you go up through the speaker port in the bottom of the door with a magnet on a stick.

If your clips fell below the ridge just under the mirror bolt holes, you need a different approach than just fishing them out with tweezers.

Duct tape, gum, poster tack, etc. did not work for me.

What DID work for me (takes <10mins):

Straighten out a wire hanger and push the clips around until you find a spot where can press down on the clip (from any angle, on any place on the clip) without it moving.

Take the wire clothes hanger and blowtorch the end until it is glowing (it doesn't stay that hot for long so you have to get it pretty hot with the torch). A lighter would probably work too but you'd have to be quicker about this next part.

Get the hot tip of the hanger down into the door and press into the clip with it. It should melt into (or through) the plastic clip. Give it 30 to 45 seconds and your clip will be firmly attached to the hanger, allowing you to maneuver it out of the door. Rinse and repeat.

I managed to get all three clips out this way with no damage to myself or the door, two of which were in working condition (the third was melted too badly).

For the other door, I pinched the clips with my fingernails and pulled them out of the door, then attached them to the plastic panel first before putting the panel in the door. The clips will lock into place without any risk of dropping inside the door.

Hope this saves someone 3 hours of head scratching and frustration.
