    I’ve seen people weld behind the stock cam tabs but I’m curious if that is very easy bc that metal seems very thin. At least on second gens

    The metal is very thin on both gens. This is why I don't think its a good idea as the heat will literally pull the tab away from the cam.

    On the second gen it was super easy to do the chaos cam gusset. Air chisel off stock tab and weld on gusset. Yea it's awkward position to weld but it's not that bad.

    Well, considering it was impossible to move the cam adjusters, it seems like the tabs were safe in those conditions.

    Now that we have molested her down there, it may well be that alignments are easier to lose. :oops: I guess as long as the tabs don't bend in the process, things will be fine in that there wont be anything an alignment can't fix.

    You did a good job of marking your alignment cams, I would do the same with the bolts after making sure the shop torques them properly.

    It would be pretty easy to reset the alignment to the last known position until you could get it on a rack then.

    How many of you are running c range tires? I have E and am considering my next set to be C. Considering another set of stmaxx or an all terrain

    I have Cs on Frank, always have. Little truck also has Cs. Igor has Es. I would love to run Cs on Igor. Only tire in a 33 on a 17'' rim i can find thats not shit is the KO2s..

    Don't think you'll find many options in a C rated for a 16 or 17'' wheel.

    only 285 i found was a KO2 with a C rating. Or E if you wanted.

    Not for me. In fact, ride is better having the softer side wall.

    Thats all it is. While some tires do have more side walls in there E vs a C. Some do not. Just a less stiff side wall as E is just a higher load range.

    Our trucks don't weight that much for an E anyways. So it tends to be a rough ride. Don't get me wrong aired down is still smooth in Igor, but not as smooth. And when Igor is at 40psi its rough. Im hoping just a wider tire in general though helps it be not quite as rough as I also won't have to run as high of tire pressure on the street.

    I so wish someone would make 33" C's for 16" wheels. I sometimes wonder if I should have stuck with 15's, and foregone the Tundra brakes... For now, I'm hoping the sidewalls on these ST/Maxx's break in over time.

    I have a bit - 18 psi is meh (feels like 25 on my C Duratracs); 16 is better. Going for 15 on the next trip.

    are yours Es? if so..don't expect them to loosen up much..mine never did really.

    True but for a tall and skinny tire like his to get even wear he will have to run a higher pressure on the road. I run 40-42 in igor for instance vs 32 in Frank which is considered pretty low.

    at least you're on 16s. I went to 18 and it felt great but the odds of hitting a wheel where way too high with mine that low. 20 it is.

    Yep, mine are E's. And yeah, on the road I have to be at ~40, which is not great (though is better when we're loaded down, which is most of the time now when we're in the truck :D :p).

    I'm surprised 16/17 would make that much of a difference with hitting a wheel; I'll have to keep a really close eye. Maybe I stick in the 16-18 range long term; we'll see.

    I run 35 on the st Maxx and rotate every 5k. Really even tread wear actually. But ya stiff still.

    I had i think 18? maybe it as 15..idk can't remember :oops: for HITR and saw this:

    I know that doesn't look that bad in the photo(does it ever look as bad?) but it wasn't even a really narrow spot for the tire to be on and was pretty darn close. For crawling, was fine. But I know that at speed that could be a wheel breaker. So back up to 20 i went after that trail.

    Can't wait to see what yours looks like @Squeaky Penguin I really how they have tested fitted a 1st gen..gonna be way different to fit. Plus narrower bed.
