I guess I just don't see the point, it adds more cost and more parts for something you don't need at all to achieve the same effect. If you were setting up camp for days at a time then, yeah, it would have some real purpose. If you just wanna play with solar panels and charge controllers that's cool.

Most people suggest just replacing the axle rather than rebooting, for one thing it's easier to just put a new axle in than it is to replace a boot on an old one (have to take it on/off anyway). Also, depending on how long the boot was torn there could be dirt, water and grime that got into it which compromises the integrity of the axle and can make it prone to failure.

For those that have relocated the reservoir. What did you do about the sensor?

Ah, so you're making it fully contained. I suppose if you don't want an ML-ACR in both vehicles that'll work. I thought you were selling the third gen?

I never had a sensor, not sure when Toyota started implementing them, but you can just remove it. Not sure it would be super accurate in a new reservoir anyway. What are you doing for a bottle? I love how much the stock one holds so I never did the PVC pipe thing.

With the way the charge relay boxes split everything up it doesn't hurt them, but I have a 120amp anyway.

ML-ACR is just a common dual battery relay deal, you'd have to have on in the first gen and the third gen if you used the alternator to charge the second battery system.

Well unfortunately the housing is to big. I relocated my resi up on the coilbucket gusset and moved it closer to the alternator. So I would have to find one that is close to size as the stock one. Thanks anyways. I did find the old thread you started when you asked about alternators. I'm checking out what others have posted.

    Ah! Darn.

Well there are high output alternators out there built on stock housings. Guy on here used to sell them...was it @BamaToy1997 ? i think it was..

Either way there are high output options out there that use the stock housing so you should be good.

Superbrightleds.com had them for a time, although I think now you can only find them on Amazon, I'd get the 2700K ones otherwise the color temperature is like an office building from the 70s

Does anyone have complete wiring diagrams for a 98 V6? Trying to trace the cruise control system so I can completely remove it from the engine side of things! I have a pdf wiring diagram and it's pretty bare-bones - missing a lot of info. @BartMaster1234

ACR is an Automatic Charging Relay. The ML signifies that it is manually controlled. Essentially is connects both banks together for charging purposes. When the voltage on one bank falls below the dropout point (like 12.35VDC), the relay opens so that both banks don't lose charge. The manual part of it allows you to open/close the ACR link as you see fit.
