I brought my 2017 camry in. The left rear tire was going flat slowly over the course of 2 days. I am an automotive tech myself but could not find the leak and had no means of dunking the tire. I installed the spare and drove it to the dealership today, March 29, 2018. They said I need a new tire because of puncture in sidewall. When the tech showed it to me, it was obvious YOU punctured the sidewall. The tire was completely flat and would not hold pressure at all. I am sitting at Firestone right now buying a new tire. Can you say service quota?

The above is exactly what I sent in an email to Toyota. To my surprise I received a reponse very shortly thereafter. The response in and of itself pleases me. While I may not frequent the dealership again for service and drive a little further down Route 1... the brand itself holds value because of the product and the encouraging prompt response.

Well, I had Firestone give me the old tire. The puncture is perpendicular to the sidewall. I will post pics later on today. If you live near me I recommend you avoid that service dept. Travel a little further. That’s what I am gonna do in the future.

Why would you leave and allow that?

I asked for the manager and voiced my complaint. The manager said there is nothing he can do. He offered to price match a tire. That’s it. I was pissed and walked away. The picture above was taken with the tech standing next to me immediately after he showed it to me. I did fire off the email while sitting at Firestone. I gave permission for customer relations rep to look into the incident. It’s done. Sharing my experience is probably the most powerful tool that I have! What we can do today as consumers is incredible! A truly double edged sword this social media thing!

It clearly looks like they punched a hole in the sidewall. I wouldn't leave with truck. I'd call the police and file a police report for vandalism. That's just insane.

Haha call me next time. I know what dealer your at. I was at a yankee game last year and they wouldn't honor my parking receipt even though I paid $35 for parking. I told them call the cops. I didn't have to pay again. I'm not beat.

Dealers, lie, steal coins out of the cab, purposely vandalize and abuse your truck. Will only go to the dealer if I want a brand new vehicle. Sorry to hear about they did to your truck. Good luck.

Thanks! It was actually the wifey’s car. We basically bring our vehicles to the dealership while they are still under warranty. After the warranty period I take over basic maintenance.
