Well, now that I think about it, beer is an acquired taste... If I choke down about 6 craft beers, they begin to taste better and better.

It is. Much like wine, whiskey or fast food burgers.

Straub American lager is my go to. Straub started brewing way back, long before they ever started adding shit to beer that we can't even pronounce **and it tastes like beer**straub-lager.png

My opinion (and that's all this is) - if all you lightly drink on the weekend is craft beer, your pallet eventually becomes accustomed to it and fatigued and bored. I also get very very disappointed when I spend $10-$12 on a new 6-pack beer to find out its nothing special or has some weird after taste - that's very aggravating and I'm stuck with it. I'm also getting tired of some of the 'trusted' bigger breweries like Dogfish on the East Coast, and Green Flash on the West Coast recently losing their ability to provide an IPA beer which is consistent, or 'accidently' releasing something that's flat. Not sure if its cost cutting coming into effect on their processes, or the quality of the barley and hops which is getting used now - if something changes though, I remember it and won't buy it anymore. I got some regular Corona this weekend and it was great!

Plus - if you care about the way your stomach actually looks and the way dress shirts or pants actually fit around your waist area, you can't be drinking 9-12 beers over the course of Thursday evenings to Saturday evening. Those Youtube channel personalities who all casually mix high quality beer tasting in with their computer building or unboxing of rare video games or other YouTube timewaste topics as a primary job channels- its starting to catch up with them and it shows on camera!

Nah not sick of them, I try some new stuff now and then from some of them. I don't touch stuff like PBR, Mic Ultra or any variants, Miller or any of the stuff like them. Not a fan of Yuengling, Corona or many of the others. My standard beers are things like Guinness, Stella, Molson XXX, Hoegarden, used to like Molson Ice when I was younger (grew up about 10 mins from Canada).

I will usually try any German beer I can find, when I was still in Tampa there used to be a German restaurant by where I worked. He had a bunch of different imports there and I tried many of them. I want to try some of the really sought after trapist monk brews that are out there but they are REALLY hard to find, there is supposedly one that comes to the US ever once in a while that is supposed to be out of this world (can't remember the name right off hand).

I am not a big fan of IPA in general. I like some of the craft breweries around me went to one last week and tried a really good dark beer. Now I will say that a LOT of the stuff some of these places try out sounds really disgusting to me. But to each their own.

Their brewery is a couple hours from where I live. Tried that one a couple of times. Was pretty decent. I like dark heavy beers though.

yes and no, tried a bunch over the years.

I have found 2 "special" beers I like. OMB Copper, and Fat Tire.

Other than that Miller Lite is my staple beer

IMO the "craft" became the art of removing $12 from my wallet for a six pack of brews over the $6 I used to spend.

    I
    Paid
    A lot

Crafty sumbitches in their garages and industrial warehouses...I drink Coors Light now and will venture out for an I Paid Alot for it beer once in awhile, but mostly enjoy that 36 pack of CL from Costco that packs well in my ARB, is welcomed at all campgrounds/beaches, and crushes up nice and easy at the end.

Coors invented the aluminum packaging vessel, and after visiting their brewery (largest in the world BTW...) in Golden, Colorado last year...

Yeah, you're right. Choices suck. Everyone should just find one thing they like and never try anything new ever again.

    You know I'm kidding, right?

I heard on the radio today that some brewery was cooking up an Easter batch using Peeps as a flavoring. Yes just what the world needs peep beer.

    False.

I’m a beer snob. I love local breweries and trying new beers.

You have to pay attention to your local brewers to understand what beers are experimental, seasonal, or regulars. I have not had a hard time knowing when a particular brew is limited or will be available during certain parts of the year.

I also don’t get too upset if a particular beer is discontinued. There are always more beers out there. Plus beer tastes change. I don’t have a favorite beer now that was a favorite 5 years ago. What I love now I won’t in 5 years.

If you get frustrated over beers changing unexpectedly you need to do more research on the beers you like to know when to stock up before they go out of season.

I travel over many states to get my beers. I’m certainly not tired of some good beer.

Nothing wrong with how you are enjoying beer. I was down that path myself at one time, but now I'm starting to see it all as a bit of a game with the consumer jumping through hoops to chase down beers that seem to cost ever more and have increasingly poor flavor and quality. Many of the good beers that were available have been displaced by cranberry/peanut butter IPA's and other such nonsense. Hey if that's your thing go for it, but I'm sorta done with it.

    Cheers

    Preach it, brutha!

There's a short list of styles I don't generally like (pilsners, wheat beers, saisons), other than that I'll try pretty much anything once. My faves are stouts, IPAs, black lagers, & porters.

I mean hell, between Longmont, Loveland, and Fort Collins there's at least a dozen REALLY good small breweries here! What's a guy gonna do?
