Doug DeMuro posted a great video about a mid-engine, supercharged, Toyota... Mini-Van. Four words you would never expect to hear next to each other. The Toyota Previa. Can you believe the supercharged version only made 138 HP?

Could get it with a baby Ogura supercharger and AWD too. Very strange engine with a separate driven accessory shaft for driving alternator and PS, and remote oiling

My Aunt had one... thing was always sitting broken in her driveway for some reason. I always saw my cousin working on the engine from the inside since the engine was under the driver's seat. The only other vehicle I've seen with interior access like that was an ex-USMC HMMWV my buddy daily drives for god knows what reason. Thing probably gets 10 feet per gallon.

The SC from the Previa is kinda neat because its drive pulley is like an A/C pulley so it has an electric clutch to essentially turn the boost on haha. For a little while I thought about trying to adapt one to my engine, hence why I know anything about the previa haha. The previa engine is pretty similar in design head wise to a 2RZ.

You talking about turn sigs? That would indicate the cancel cam is broken (can happen it is just plastic)

Interesting. You were trying to adapt a Previa SC to your truck?

It's funny you could also order one with a Manual Transmission. A minivan.

Won't shut itself off? You mean lock in place without the keys in the ignition?

My good friend in high school had a chrysler minivan with a manual trans - we took the middle row seats out and that thing was our camping-mobbing mobile.

Yeah I was thinking about trying it, would be a super low buck way to get a couple lbs of boost. Just have to build some brackets to hold it above the A/C compressor and use two of its intake port assemblies so you can hook piping to it. Only downside is Ogura no longer makes rebuild kits for it so you have to source out a really expensive rebuild kit for a supra model that had a similar supercharger. I still kinda want to try that, maybe one day haha

My friend has this manual trans Protegè, and is probably one out of five people in my school who can drive stick. He had this giant sub in the trunk and a cop horn hooked up for some reason.

Of course that's because everyone else drives Teslas and Hybrids. My other friend works Valet at Facebook and he said whether it was the IT guy or a software engineer, they all have Teslas. The Tesla Model S is the official vehicle of the Silcon Valley.

That's insane. Would it bolt up directly to the 3RZ?

It only boosted the stock Previa about 20-30 HP lol

We also get an HOV OK sticker to put on the back fenders if you drive an electric or hybrid car which allows you to drive solo in the carpool lane, plus you get a federal tax incentive for having one.
