    I have an 01 tacoma and i just noticed that when im settin still and turn the wheel to the left it will make a poping sound. truck still drives the same. just tryin to get some idea what it is.. thanks

    Ball joints??? My F250 did that when the ball joints were shot...And my steering linkage.

    I have no clue on the Tacos, But when I had my 03 F250 it was $1150 at NTB. On my 95 F250 I had in HS, I had it done for about $500.

    But then again, They are big friggin trucks, I had it lifted ECT. so im sure that why the price was so high.

    But im sure somebody else will chime in that has had exp. on this.

    call a dealership and give them your vin number there was a ball joint recall a few years back they will replace them for free if it hasn't been done yet. I got my truck done last summer.

    yep, i bought my 03 prerunner doublecab used and the original owner had the paperwork from the ball joint replacement. there was a recall in the 2003 model for sure.

    i think its for the 01 - 04 models but I would call the dealership and check. You can go to somewhere on the toyota website and type in your VIN and it can tell you what recalls have been done to your truck and what recalls are out for your truck.

    Check your VIN there. My 2003 had the ball joint recall also.
