To the OP, make sure you somehow change your situation before it gets too late. I'm turning 50 in a few months and I too have no friends, no SO, and no pets in my life. I work, come home, sleep and repeat. I suffer from depression and social anxiety so things are difficult for me. I'm not mentioning all this for sympathy, pity, or whatever. I just hate to see someone else in my shoes.

Sorry for your situation... find one that's close to you and go to a few meets. Get out and enjoy the fresh air.

Generally i think if one is hanging out on a forum they probably don't have alot of friends.

I don't really get along with people and am a bit of an asshole at work. But then again, i'm not really meant to be liked, i'm there to get shit done.

My wife..... she kind of tolerates me but i try to be good to her. Soooo....

    OP,
Your wife is THE BEST friend you can and should have. How many actual friends does a person truly have, outside of family? I have 5 true friends at most.

I’m in the same boat, OP. Went to private elementary anencephaly high schools so never got to know the kids in my town. Then went to college out of state. Had plenty of friends in college, but lost touch with them. Now at 28 my wife is my best friend and I’m close with one of my cousins. Glad to hear I’m not the only one haha

I'm 33 have one friend who lives within 4 hours of me and its my cousin. We have been very good friends our whole life though, so I'm not complaining. Actually headed over there in a few hours and he always is up to help me with a car or truck project. Other than that I just text my buddies from college (10 years ago now holy shit) every once and a while and maybe see them twice a year. I don't want friends though, I value my alone time and privacy and having someone always trying to do something with me really annoys me. That might sound stupid, but I view most people as a hindrance to my freedom and peace of mind, I just want to be left alone to do what makes me happy. Plus I have a big enough family where if I want friends when I am 60 or something, I can go over to their places and hang out.

Guys, it might sound pathetic, but if your wife isn't your best friend....try to make it that way. I wouldn't be where I am or nearly as happy with my life without her. Your buddies always will have something else to do, or their own families eventually, and won't have time for you at some point down the road. A dedicated wife that supports you and your goals as a man and family is a priceless thing to have.

Same. I am typically in bed by 8pm. Up at 430am though. I like my alone time too.
Would prefer it to be on a river by 5am, but those days are coming.

A dog will love you forever. Even if you accidentally lock her out in the cold. Try doing that to your wife. :bowdown:E88F85DB-3796-43DA-9E2F-9362B2AF18D1.jpg

I'm in the same boat, I'm 59 and recently separated. I had plenty of friends who are also married but once my marriage went into the shitter they kinda disappeared. I try to stay busy with work and I enjoy being outdoors, so I stay busy with hiking, biking, fishing and going to the gym. I have family nearby and spend a lot of time playing Pop Pop with them. I miss just hanging out with friends.

My grandma always said that if I can count the number of best friends on one hand, I should consider myself lucky.

Yup! Registered a few weeks ago, Jambo's way to fun to miss. I'll be at BMRA next weekend with some TW members as a pre Jambo shakedown run Sat/Sun. TW's made me plenty of people I would call friends, many of which are becoming good friends.

Wife doesnt really like to socialize much, just a few people every once in a while. But we fish, hunt, shoot, go atv'ing together OR when shes not feeling good I go by myself...its somehow peaceful to get out in the woods or go even go fishing alone.
