I pulled my trailer with both the new ford and dodge when my truck was in the shop. The dodge handled the trailer much better. Also, the 30k tow rating vs 12.5k makes a huge difference

Dually also makes it a lot nicer and helps control the "sway" of the trailer. Love the mega cabs. Those Cummins are stout damn motors.

Yup, the duals are night and day compared to singles.

That 12.5k is sad. I was excited to have the tundra until I wanted to do big truck stuff and realized it's capacity is 9k.

I assume the dodge is quite a bit heavier as well which also helps

Still total weight limited to 26klbs total unless you get a personal use cdl to carry more than that which gets into a whole new realm of insurance and licensure.

Yea but 2 rigs and a trailer tip the scale around 12k right there. The camper didn't weigh much that smky has on his trailer but it just comes to a point that it's better to get a truck capable of pulling 30k and pulling 15k with it rather than maxing out a trucks capacity.

Camper, trailer, and rig = 13,000lbs

So instead of pulling at the max capacity I’ll be less than half.

How much does that dodge weigh? My old F350 dually 2wd with me in it before any mods weighed in a little over 8000lbs. Then add in stock taco at 5000lbs plus trailer and everything else I don't see how you are that light?

Ohh wait I read it wrong.. he means just the camper, the trailer, and his taco. At least I’m guessing

I was just making a general statement that just because it is rated at that doesn't mean you can tow that much legally. Mr DOT will love to give you a big fine and park you for being over weight.

That was just what I have behind me. The Ford is 7800. I don’t know the weight on the dodge yet.
