I think that post put me over the edge on ordering these. Can you post a engine bay pic of the HID ballast mounting?

Question for you. It looks like you have the smoked lenses with the black housing.... Correct? Or are they clear lenses with black housing? Thanks

I had HIDs in my truck for about 2yrs. Never stopped chasing electrical issues with the ballasts and bulbs and DRLs. My driver side HID would just randomly shut off. Sometimes switching the lights on/off helped, other times it was just dead to the world. I gave up a month ago and I switched back to OEM smoked housings and Osram H4 bulbs. Just know that HIDs are a different animal.

I had these issues as well when I would run cheap eBay hid kits. When I tried an actual decent name brand kit, 0 issues... at least for the past couple years

Installed the new H9/H11 LED bulbs (360 degree). I got the LED bulbs from Ebay for $26. I had to return the pair I bought from Amazon ($48). It’s been a few days with these lights and so far I am satisfied on how it projects light on the road. I usually work at night (field work). Need to probably fine tune the beam adjustments.

Thanks @Benzdriver81 for the tip about these LED bulbs.

Do you have any output shots on the road? These look pretty good, also did the driver fit in the head light housing?

I will try to get some output shots on the road if I have sites on the outskirts of Nevada. I’ve been doing work in the Las Vegas area lately so most places are pretty much lit up. Regarding the driver, I bought the universal dust caps from Ebay so the fan and driver are outside the housing. I may already voided my warranty (so bye bye $260 in case these headlights gets defective) by chopping off the dust caps that came with it as the wires to power the high beam shroud are too short. I was planning to make my own harness but I can’t find the exact shottky/rectifier diode so I had to use the same harness. I will try and post pics of the wiring I did.

In the picture it looks as though the LED you went with is noticeably more blue than the LED/DRL that those housings come with. Would you say that pic is a pretty fair representation of how they appear in person or is the light output closer to the same if you look at them side by side? Any pictures of the back side installation so that we can get an idea what is entailed on this installation and if there's a way to get around voiding the warranty or not? Also, why did you have to return the ones you got from Amazon, just the difference in price for the same item?

Some road pictures would be helpful. I've been looking for a replacement bulb for mine. These look good so If they work and install fairly easily I might go with them.

I forgot to mention that the bluish color on the driver side LED is the one from Amazon, that’s the main reason I am returning it to them (the passenger LED is white)They took too long to respond and when searching for the same bulb on ebay, I won a bidding for the same bulb for $26. Amazon seller is offering to send a replacement set which I declined. I will return their set for a full refund.

It was pretty warm today so i installed these. Sorry about the glare. Havent wired the halos yet though. That hidden bolt was a pain to find on the first one.

I know there are a few different brands that offer this sweet LED light tube DRL design (TacomaBeast, Spyder, and Ebay). I still have a few questions about them... your help would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Which brand(s) do the DRL turn on the LED light tube?

    2. Which brand(s) do not leak or cause condensation?

    3. Which brand(s) allow the use of LED bulbs?

    Thanks!

They are identical, all brands. I saw someone’s pics from a different brand than I bought, even the packaging, boxes, foam filling in the boxes, was identical.

    You sure?

I have done a fair amount of research and if the pictures of the lights are the correct then they are different.
