    New slogan?

“Go Fast Campers, built in America, by Men with Beards”

(Not to slight the men with mustaches or women in your employ in any way)

Unfortunately I’ve seen women with mustache and beards better than that.

My question got overlooked and lost before..

But have you test fitted a 1st gen yet?

Very different platform than the 2nd and 3rd gen...

It is important, but it’s also Easter Sunday. Unless everyone has a job like i do (where I’m actually stuck working right now) give them a day of rest, lol.

I could be wrong. But I’m 99% sure there is NOT a 1st gen prototype however i believe they are batching the builds as they go. I’m sure we will see a 1st final product fairly soon as quite a few pre orders were for Gen 1’s

Not asking for an answer this instant. I just asked it a few pages back and it was missed. So I just want to bring it back to the forefront.

Hahahahaha, sorry i forgot how hardcore TW is, my thoughts are a little different.

Maybe... Relax, you ARE going to die.

Yeah cause one things for certain you aren’t getting out of this life alive no matter how much you think you’re at DEFCON 1 all the time.

And i wasn’t trying to be at all religious but jeez, maybe people wanna see their families for dinner or sleep, or drink a beer or 2.

Definitely a game changer. I see RTT sales for small pickups falling off as these take off. Nice work.

No worries brother, it’s all good, I’m here at work and it’s 0300 on the east coast so I’m just hanging on here bored.

I’m jealous and I wish I was enjoying some Hops and Barely myself.

Bored at work is better than busy and stressed at work. Plenty of time for beer in life but we all have to pay the bills somehow.

Great video on a great product, and thank you Graeme for the clear presentation! Really appreciate the GFC team for taking the time to share this video and I hope you get some down time this weekend.

    This design is solid.

Bummer! I’ll have to come up with a design solution before I buy. I want to keep the camper on the whole time, but not let access to the thousands of dollars of gear in my bed. Everything else about the design looks awesome.

I was thinking the same thing. I'd imagine the super easy fix would be two plates with holes mounted to the extrusion with T nuts (one on the bottom stationary part, one on the top hinged section) and toss a master lock between the two?

I'm guessing GFC will invent a more elegant solution.

Re: locking system. There is enough interest that we will come up with a solution. It will probably be internally locked so you don't have anything on the outside.

Monte, we have not built for the 1st gen yet, but we have one coming up very soon in the build queue. The camper frame will be specifically designed to fit this exact application, we don't plan on any overlap with modern (big) Tacoma. Is that what you mean? We have an access cab to use for measurements, but you're probably gonna have to drive up here with a reg cab when the time comes!

Our design process enables us to tool quickly for an entirely new canopy design, so we never have a 'universal' anything. We were glad to find that we can make 2nd and 3rd gen lowers the same for Tacoma, so folks that upgrade don't have to swap canopies. But the only reason that works is because angles, widths and lengths really are close enough for it all to mate together as we would normally design it.

Add me to the list of “interested in an internal locking system”. I plan to run mine April through Nov full time and would rather have the piece of mind. TY

Awesome video and pictures. Glad I preordered.

I too would like a locking mechanism. Not a deal breaker for delivery, but hopefully something that could be retrofit in easily.

Between standardized operable side panels, less rake on rear angle, and now this..., These guys are amazing. I have never heard of a company addressing the needs of its customers so well. Just imagine if everything you bought had this kind of R&D behind it...

Please add us to the list of "More than interested" in locking the panels/top from inside. I'm thinking ball lock pins, and some simple tabs placed in just the right spots...
