Any more Tacoma 2nd Gens with headlight condensation that won't go away?

    Resurrecting hopefully. Short and sweet.

I took apart my lenses from the buckets.

    Resealed very well.

After washing truck, and driving, condensation inside lenses, specifically around the 2 air vents.

I took the air vent caps off, i noticed inside the caps that one has a very porous, scotchbrite like material, the other has a dense foam material.

Not sure if i had them mixed up (from top to bottom), but i believe the air vents, and caps, have a lot to do with the moisture problems people have.

If someone with a proper headlight that doesnt let in moisture EVER, could take off their top cap, and post a pic of which material is inside the air vent cap, that would be great.

I believe i may have had my two caps mixed up, from top to bottom, reversed, letting moisture in, due to the improper foam spacer material inside the air vent caps in relation to the top of the headlight to the bottom, directing air flow, and moisture directing.

    Thankyou!

I can fulfill part of this request 5 years later. My driver headlight is getting condensation I have been battling with for a few weeks now. I don't have the full history of the truck, but it is an OEM headlight that I would bet money has never been opened or tinkered with. The top cap has the porous scotchbrite like foam, while the bottom one has the dense soft foam. 5 years late with no pics and a wet headlight, but it's the best I can do :)

P.S. When this thread is necrobumped if anything has anything I can try other than silicone sealing the seam and fully drying out the insides let me know :)

Old thread ik, I’m having the same condensation issue in my headlights but what’s weird is they both started at the exact same time, right after I washed it. It hasn’t gone away in 2 days now and I think I found a vent but I’m not sure.

Assuming this is the vent, how do I clear it so the condensation can leave? I’ll also attach pics of what the headlights look like rn.

If anyone has had this issue and fixed it let me know!

Just because you didn't have a problem before now doesn't mean the headlamp hasn't developed a leak where the lens and housing meet and no it don't have to be a venting problem, could be there's more water getting inside the lamp than the vent can take care of quick... Just my 2 cents..
