Was catching up on threads and just saw this. We had a tree get struck by lightning just outside my gate. Sounded like a bomb went off. Had to call the sheriff's dept. to help get it cleared off the road as it was blocking the east bound lane of FM 969

Don't forget to shop for a diesel toyota. They get 15 year rule instead of our 25.

So my dad had brain surgery on Monday (aneurysm wrap) and I’ve been inwardly kicking myself for not going up to be there. Turns out that was the smarter thing because there was nothing I could do. He called my today, and for a guy whose skull was open 5 days previously he sounded great. Can’t wait to get home and “shit in my own goddamned bathroom.”

The docs are smart, and have figured out how absolutely stubborn he is. They aren’t releasing him until I’m going to be there to keep him from trying to drive his truck, tractor, motorcycle...basically anything with more wheels than a recliner.

I’ve got my work cut out for me.

I did this just prior to the pollen monsoon but added glaze and sealant prior to the wax. What a pain for us short folk. The first time I rain-x'd the windshield, it stormed the night after and when I went to work the next morning I noticed I didn't even coat the center of the windshield.

Good morning and Happy Easter All! I'm just here at work:pccoffee: :typing: @Texoma have you or have you heard anything good/bad about the URD short shifter kit? I've read the threads on here but just wanted to confer with another Mechanic/Technician on this.

I wish I had that much dedication to mine... the last time my truck got washed as me hitting it with the power washer (and nothing else) after that Bastrop run.

I had the URD short throw shifter on my supercharged first gen and absolutely loved it! Takes a while to get used to but once you do it's awesome. The feel and install is well worth it.

I read that. Especially reverse, they make it seem like you need to be an arm wrestling champ to move it. My main concern was reading about the shafts shearing but I won't be slamming gears like I may or may not have done in the mustang.

Makes it a little tougher to put it in reverse but it's not bad. Definitely worth the added advantages of the short shifter. I never had a problem with the extension or gear shifter at all. Just be sure the set screw is goodntite and add threadlocker for reassurance. At least that's what I did and it worked flawlessly.

I can't imagine it being any worse than my old mustang with the Tri-Ax short shifter. That thing was tighter than dick's hat band.
