Hey. Just checking in to this thread. Another Tacoma loving bug tosser here. Live in upstate NY (Finger Lakes Region) and spend a good deal of time also fishing northern PA. Weather's looking good for Saturday so i'll be standing in a stream somewhere.

Had ourselves a real nice day floating the Yak on Saturday. Connected with some greedy cutts and rainbows.

It's officially "Opening Day" in ME today (even though some water is open year round). I won't be venturing out though.

Last Saturday in April in Michigan, I hope it doesn’t snow on the opener. We have a lot of area open year round, but I rarely go,it’s tough on my arthritis.

I just printed roughly 3276 copies of my fishing license and have three (always need a backup :D) stashed in every conceiveable piece of gear....rod tubes, reel pouches, waders, sling pack, glove box, etc.

I think I'm covered in the event I forget to actually bring it along!

    JK - only printed 6.

That is a good idea to make a copy of license. In Michigan you are required to carry both your fishing and drivers license. Years ago I took a spill, everything got soaked.

Been doing this for years with my license (it's a combo fishing/hunting). Print them on waterproof paper. It's saved my butt on countless occasions.

the waterproof paper is the exact reason I dont renew online. the local retailers that do it have the state machine that prints it on plastic

We just get plain paper here from retailers. When bought online, we're provided a link to go print our license.

we can always have the retailers print another, but it can be a hassle because its not their trained selling a license procedure

I've been laminating my licences and boat registrations. You are not supposed to do that because you can't sign off on them if under plastic. I still do.
