    As long as you keep them cleaned out properly, never had a issue with them.

    Cows won't step somewhere if they can't see the bottom. So keeping em cleaned out is key.

    Well everybody has different experiences and setups. How deep the hole is under the cattle guard plays a big role in it.

    In my lifetime, I have never had a cow go across one until one got filled up with dirt. Then I cleaned it out and havent had a problem since

    Basically.

    The one behind my truck is the one to my dads buddies land. He has 300-400 head of cattle and never had one cross his.

    You dig a deep hole, frame it off KINDA (can use wood or cement like pictured) just to help keep the dirt from filling it back in when you drive over it, drop the guard in and boom. Good to go.
