Fox 2.0 Coilover IFP and rear 2.0 Remote Reservoir review

Should work, and I agree, the valving in these shocks is right on for our trucks. Also, regarding the clean truck, it takes a lot of work, pull the wheels, put it up on stands, climb under it, soap, water, then detail. Two full days of work. Check out the paint, like glass. Just installed sliders and didn't lose any lift this day.

Always impressed Sir. Wish I had the time to clean like that. Honestly, I'm probably going to just spray mine in bullet liner at some point. My paint is scratched to high hell. My truck is tip top mechanically and I make sure of it, but with where I take it it's pretty much impossible to make it look brand new like that beauty you're rolling in. And the sliders look gooood! You'll like that kick-out if you ever have to squeeze around a tree or rock. Wish I had 'Em bc it's gotten sketchy a few times right bf the rear tire picks up... Need my fenders haha. Mully, well done.

 

By the time the Jeep dies, the Tacoma will be fully ready as my new trail toy, then I'll purchase another tow truck. Here is my latest project, doing a full SAS and 1 tons to this. Coach is 100%, suspension and axles are shot. It also has a new vortex motor.

 

Instead of the 3 turns to get rid of the drivers side lean; would a 1/4" top plate spacer work just as well, or is there not enough room on top of the shock without adding longer studs?

 

A top plate spacer is fine, but decreases the effectiveness of the driver's bump stop. If doing a spacer, I recommend using a bump stop spacer as well (if going with Wheelers superbumps). Not 100% necessary unless you wheel your Taco like I do. As far as the studs, I can't tell ya bc I removed my spacers when I did the coilovers. I imagine there's enough threads on the studs, but don't hold me to that. Go put that coilover in a spring compressor and turn the collar man. If you're going to do something, do it right. Just my two cents.

Are you lifting the rear? Also, I'm not sure how the 3rd gens sit factory. Make sure you measure for the driver's lean with a full tank of gas. They may have fixed that and you might be solid right out of the box.

 

Yes, I was planning on doing the Dakar medium leaf pack. From what I am reading that would get me about 2" of lift in the rear.
I have about 1"- 1 1/2" rake, and right around 1/2" of Taco lean. So if the Fox's come with about 2" out of the box and crank 3 turns on drivers side; with the Dakar pack I should be very close to level, or maybe a slight rake (which is ok with me).

Those will pair up nicely with the Fox 2.0 Performance Series Coilovers for the front, and 2.0 Performance Series Remote Resi Rears for 2"-2.5" of lift.

 

I've adjusted mine, on the truck, 4 times. So have many others. It takes 10 minutes total for both sides. Taking them off to adjust & putting them back on is 2+ hours.

 

Exactly, I been saying this for a few years now. I had no problems adjusting mine. We just made sure there was no weight on the front wheels. FOX and many others will tell you to remove them just to be safe.

And and sounds like I may be finally adjusting the collars to where I wish I had put them. Need an alignment anyhow, a little off since the last airborne adventure. Appreciate all the info fellas.

Question: Did you turn them by hand or use a spanner?

 

I have a spanner, got it from Offroad Warehouse. Works, just need gloves. I have the old duel collar adjusters, the new 2.0s have some type of single collar with a Allen type clamp. Never adjusted this new type before. Maybe someone can let us know.

 

I have the "medium" Dakar leaf pack (newest version). I netted ~2.25" w/them from stock & no armor.
I cut 2 screwdrivers & use them to adjust my 2.5 Fox's (newest version). The hole they fit in is 8mm. Some say they bought a punch from Harbor Freight & it fit. My cut screwdrivers fit perfect & it works really well using 2 @ a time. In my build thread is more specific info.
