Girlfriend got her new pavement rig a couple weeks ago, though we are still buried in snow and haven't had a chance to test out this future shock business yet. All the reviews sound super promising.

Went and rode in Colorado Thursday night to Yesterday afternoon in GJ/Fruita/Loma. I was so busy riding, I kinda forgot to take pictures...

    Highlights:
    47 miles of great riding
Discovered Zippity Do Dah at 18 Road which is fun as all hell!
Managed to ride 2/3 of the Horsethief entry. The last part was far above my confidence level.
Shared a campsite with a cool dude named Francois from BC, which had just spent 5 weeks in Baja and was moseying his way back home.
Rediscovered my love of Chacos as post ride footwear
    HOT TOMATO!

    Downsides:
Major case of raccoon face right now
Work today is unbearable and I have been here 15 minutes. Can we go ride bikes some more?
I wanted to demo an Evil Wreckoning for giggles, but I know I can't afford a new bike right now, so I didn't.

Zippity Do Dah (not my pics):

A few steep runouts that you can FLY down!

That last part really just cranks it to 11. Once you see the line ridden the start really isn't that difficult, it is just a head game. The middle is pretty easy actually.

If you ever want to ride in Utah or western Colorado, let me know. I'll pick you up at the airport and gladly play tour guide.

Hurricane, Fruita and Moab all have great bikes for relatively cheap all day demo prices if you don't want to fly your bike.

Seriously, the offer is open to anyone here.

Just checked, Chicago to SLC for $259 on Delta...

Admittedly, the rider in the shot is covering the preferred line. The ledge he is dropping off of is where it goes bananas.

    Right up until it isn't...

I agree though, I've crashed for going too slow far more times than I have going too fast through a section.

I got a great deal on a roubaix with future shock last year. It's definitely a very smooth ride and a lot of my hand numbness I used to have is gone. The good part is that you can go through rough sections feeling much more planted.

Horsethief is one where if you hesitate, you lose. But if you go too fast, you lose. The rest of the trail is pure awesomeness. There's a video somewhere of a rider clearing it, riding UP. Incredible stuff.

Right on man, that whole area is most definitely on my bucket list. I’d have to bring my bike though. I spent so much building it...I’d love to really put it to the test of the West!!! I’ll keep this in mind for sure.

I've been wanting to get out riding, but the weather here can't make up its mind. 65 one day, 40 the next. Rain today, sunny tomorrow. Trails are a soggy mess, I'm waiting till it dries up a bit so I don't go rutting them up.

If the offer is good in October, I will be driving/camping through the area.

That second photo and photos from other posters should be in magazines.
