it looks like they do have the outside ring to make them a bead lock. The allied wheels use bolts not studs (sold a brand new set couple years ago now that we bought and didnt end up using, basically same rim just a 17inch for like $1000), but yeah they are like $200 a pop so if theses are legit its a hell of a deal for $550.

Like they had mentioned before - it's minimal additional work to do it proper.

Despite the back and forth about them here, that's a good deal, and the tire size I am looking for. Wish the wheels weren't MTs!

25 PSI max? WHAT?! Are they just covering their ass? How could they not be approved for highway use? I guess just approved for off road use only? Are all wheel supposed to be DOT approved for highway use? So many questions...

I guess I could just google, but is this just because of the time, money and effort it takes?

no, just that the wheel is clamped on the tire. If the bead rolls off road, no big deal. If it does when youre doing 70 on a turn, then youre probably dead.

No I mean why not try to get every wheel DOT approved?

I would bet the cost is the reason, if you just say off-road only then they don't have to spend the money on testing and research.

Those rock rings might help protect my valve stems. I cut one of them last summer. They're pretty exposed to contacting rocks when my truck is tiled side to side. If only I knew how to weld.
