TRD Pro Grille for $140?

Thanks for the reply. I will do that. On a side note I contacted the ebay seller and they offered me a 10% refund after sending pictures of the broken tab.

 

Just my opinion, but the china one looks way better than the RAD one.

 

So new development...got the OEM Pro Grille installed last night. Today I receive not one but TWO China grille knock offs. Turns out one is the one I was expecting from BruceShark, the other is from an earlier order that got cancelled and refunded after the seller got flagged (wtuymque). Not sure what to do now...

 

tech.ontario got the letters delivered today for my knockoff grill............... and a T was missing. I placed the letters on it without adhesive just to see what it looks like. IMO it looks like #@$@ because the bezel is noticeably different for the Fist and last letter which has it on the letter itself, versus the middle four which has the bezel as part of the grill. I'll take my steel RAD grill any day and be happy to not have to deal with China anymore.

It's because when they spray painted the letters they didn't mask the bezel on the two standalone letters (T,A). Yeah, you could go back and strip then flat black it to look like the others, or paint the others bezels the same color. Not a huge deal, just what you would expect from a knockoff IMO. The missing letter is more concerning. Lol

 

Is the garnish necessary when you put the TRD grill on a 2018 Tacoma? Or is it just for protection of the sensor?

 

You'll have an empty spot in your grill without it. Physically I would assume the radar would still function as intended. However, it will get dirtier and could break theoretically. It will also look weird. Just buy it.

The Chinese grille is how much cheaper than OEM and a five minute fix to the paint is what we are complaining about? I looked at mine and saw the paint and laughed. I can fix the paint in minutes which is less time than it will take to properly epoxy the letters on.

Did any of us expect OEM quality but with the Chinese price? I got what I paid for and I am pretty happy with what I got.

 

Just got my grille delivered. Opened it on my lunch. It looks awesome, nothing broken. All the letters are off and need to be put on with the tape provided. Can’t wait to get off work and install this! Took 4 days to get to my front step.

Where did you order from? Wanting one but worried about getting a bad one

 

I ordered PT228-35180 - 2018 TRD Pro Grill from local dealer last week. They asked for my VIN so I gave them one I found off internet search which seemed to work fine as I got billed then a shipping notice Friday with no tracking. This morning got a call and was told unless I can produce a registration they would not be able to complete shipping per Toyota new rules on Grill. My local dealer has 4 2017 TRD pro grill in stock $379 about to go that route to stop the headache from getting one. Not sure I will take the China plunge for 140 or less.
Would love the BAMF grill if they had TSS option for it.

Whats the going rate for a stock 2018 TRD SPORT grill , all black? Might be able to recoup some cash from selling that if I go 2017 grill route.

The grille looks really good, feel strong, no broken tabs, all the letters were included, super fast shipping. Unless you walked up to the grille and looked really close you could see that I didn’t align the sticky tape very good, so on one of the T’s you can see the tape otherwise it looks awesome. Super happy with the purchase.

 

Would it work with the tss sensor?

 

I don’t know, I have a 17. There was a spot for the sensor to mount but if I’m not mistaken the outer facing portion of the grill is see thru and it wasn’t on this one.
