You recall correctly. But not for the official "meat", or the day of the entire DBBB ride.

I'm not even sure how many. If I recall correctly 6-8 or so have asked that have said stock.

I'm focusing on the adult ride.

    Take stockers to Spaas Creek

I have a feeling most will elect to do tougher trails.

Stock vehicles are welcome, maybe they'll enjoy themselves trying harder stuff and come back the following year not so stock.

(If only I had a business selling aftermarket Tacoma parts I could increase my profit)

Mine won't stay stock for that much longer, but I just bought the damn thing three weeks ago. Realistically I probably won't have suspension and tires on my truck by June, but I'll keep playing the lottery between now and then so who knows.

I never bring a truck offroad that I wasn't fully prepared to write off in a worst case scenario no matter the planned difficulty level. Guy buys a new rig with a $30k note on it and gets into a bad situation (lost, heavy weather, bad break) and ends up raking the whole rig across a tree or worse case, flops it. Then he's up a creek without a paddle when insurance declines to pay. State Farm is on of the only ones I know that will cover a rig offroad. It happens all the time to new guys with Tacoma's and JK's (soon to be JL's)....

'Some of us like to party and live dangerously'

...says the guy still paying for his 4 year old truck with a dent in passenger rocker and lower door and pin stripes for days :)
I just want bigger better tires on the steel wheels, a front bumper, winch, and rear locker. :spending:

Im pretty sure Geico covers off-road incidents, but I emailed them to make sure. Either way why the hell would I pay for a 4x4 truck with a locking diff and crawl control if I'm not going to use it? Lets get the damn thing on the trail and let me worry about my insurance and truck payments. I'm here to have some fun.

As am I. But it's no fun having a totaled or heavily damaged truck that insurance won't pay out on. Never hurts to call and ask to make sure you are covered.

I'm a firm believer in being over-insured, but I'm not dying to smash up my new taco either. I would have kept my '88 yota if I was looking to break something. Accidents will always happen but from what I can gather from last years recap and what everyone else is driving in this thread, no one is going to be doing anything warranting an external cage, in which case I think it's safe to assume the risk of destroying my truck on this trip is minimal. But please correct me if I am wrong because I am definitely NOT trying to kill the damn thing 5 months into owning it.

Just like the intro to last year's meet. That's @mwc273 teetering on that "very easy" rock ledge and a handful of us yelling to stop because he was headed right over the hill. What you can't see there is the rock in front of his passenger front tire that would've pushed the truck right off the hillside.
We all look out for everyone. If someone doesn't feel comfortable, speak up, we won't pressure you into doing something they feel is dangerous.

Just be sure to have a CB. It helps to hear someone say, "look out for that root on the driver's side, it'll rip your fender".

You'll be surprised on what the stock Tacoma can do on a trail. Throw ya some sliders on if you're serious about doing some offroad with it and you'll be fine for the future. Tires would be the #1 plus but you should be ok with basically new tires on.
