In my opinion for the daily driver yes.
The shocks will have a more comfortable calling system more designed toward the daily driver. The shocks are also double zinc coated to help increase corrosion resistance

What are the advantages over the 5100s?

I put 5100’s on my Taco about a year ago and used the stock coils. Ride was rough to say the least. I upgraded my suspension a few weeks ago and replaced the stock coils with Eibach’s. Set them on the bottom notch and am getting exactly 2”. I would recommended these to anyone looking for a good setup that’s not looking to break the bank.

Would this be enough lift to clear Lt285/75/16’s? I know width wise depends on my wheel set up, backspace and so forth but was planning on a Bilstein 5100 lift but now y’all have me nervous about ride quality lol. Also, what would I run on the rear with this front set up? Below is the set up I’ve been looking at since I was told that gen 2 and gen 3 suspension is almost identical.

I would not recommend running that kit on the 3rd gen Tacoma.. The Bilstein shocks and coil springs in that kit specifically are designed for the 2nd gen Tacoma's. Yes they are a very similar platform but that kit will give you to much lift and to harsh of a ride quality..

If you are wanting to run a kit like that, I would personally recommend going with this kit: http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/EK16--ToyTecEibach-2-Lift-Kit-for-2016-Tacoma_p_1910.html

Ok awesome. Now will a 2 inch lift be enough to fit a 285/75/16 height wise? And if not I have a Set of leveling spacers for the front. Would it be taboo if I put that with the ToyTec lift to achieve the needed clearance?

Can't guarantee the fitment, but we have seen a lot of people run that size tire with a tad bit of inner wheel well trimming and in some cases a BMC.

    Thanks!

I’m running a 2” lift on my 3rd gen and had to do some minor trimming to get rid of the rubbing. Took it up to the mountains and experiencing zero rub. The offset on your wheels have a lot to do with how much trimming and chopping you’ll need to do.

what offset do you have? ive been looking at 16 inch wheels with 0mm offset and 4.5 backspacing. my stock wheels have +20mm of offset so this should bring the wheel out about 1.5 inches

I believe that’s what offset and backspacing my wheels have- 16” Method NV’s.

ok ill probably stick with that then. Where did you have issues with rubbing? I don't mind trimming just want to know what im in store for lol. Also, do you have a picture of how far the tires stick out from the fender with that set-up? I like to have an aggressive stance but been worried its gonna stick out too far for my taste. Also, no issues with rubbing on the control arms?

I’ll post a pic in a bit of the stance and where they trimmed. I replaced the UCA’s with SPC’s. The shop I had do the alignment pushed the tires forward close to an inch (that’s just a guess). Tire definitely looks more center than it did.

Getting alignment done tommrow; will adjust trimming accordingly.

Just wanted to post my build for those doing reasearch for theirs. It was difficult to find forums or posts going with this specific setup, hopefully it’ll help someone!
