I’m assuming you just buy Matt’s full suite of goodies that has everything you need.

This would be the easiest and most ideal scenario. But what I mean, is what will that entail? What does "everything you need" include? Will it be minimal? People will undoubtedly be asking if tunes will be available for any supporting mods they may have that won't be included in the kit.

    Just idle curiosity

Maybe it’ll be a complete kit with a new turbo motor and transmission combo that’s performs how people expect it to

I’m hoping it’s available to flash this afternoon. I’ve got about 500 miles to drive the next 2 days :fingerscrossed:

Pfft, there's no way he's selling a swap that includes the 4.7L v8 out of my 4runner ;)

I have had different vehicles with low transmission fluid, loose pressure, and suck air. In the past the engine would screem like it was in neutral until pressure was restored.

I’m curious if anyone knows if the ecu shuts off fuel and timing if there is low tranny fluid/loss of pressure.

These new smart trucks might be compensation for a mechanical problem, low fluid sucking air around a right hand corner, by killing timing and cutting fuel.

    Just a thought.

There have been posts from awhile ago that there are some loose tolerances in this trans that has been part of the consistency issue that these trucks to seem to lack. Even the fact that Matt can't seem to have a tune that has consistency from truck to truck seems to imply that a variable is in play here that is part of the equation but not being accounted for. like loose tolerances in the trans from the manufacturer.

@OVTune Any idea when orders will ship? Looks like you might have got the dongles.

I'm moving in 2 weeks. Wanna make sure it gets to the right address but also wanted it for the long drive ahead

Has anyone found a universal OBDII scanner app for Android that lets you use the Tactrix cable from the tune?

Idk, but there's also the carista obd2 scan tool. Bluetooth connectivity to your phone I believe. I don't have it personally, but I've heard a lot of good stuff about it

To add to the details above, this truck is a stock TRD Sport 4x4 long bed with a fiberglass topper. Weird shift happened just under a mile after a morning cold start. Ambient temp was probably mid 40s.

I had a ‘75 Datsun 280Z that would do that religiously in left hand turns, 3rd gear. Vapor locking in the injection system is what I think the known issue was. But hey, it was the 80’s and it had over 100k miles in it.

Not sure about this cable specifically, but I've used DashCommand with an older USB to OBDII cable in the past. Now I use a Bluetooth enabled OBDII reader. There's plenty of apps now that work with Bluetooth enabled ones...

It doesn't end with the transmission either. M/T owners have found there's a degree of variance with the engine as well. For instance, @mZiggy doesn't have a single complaint with 1.03B/C. Same file, I have stutters 2000-3000rpm part throttle/low RPM surges/throttle tip in weirdness to name a few. Testing/logging with Mat has resulted in files that take care of these issues.
