You should see a rubber hose coming off the actuator. I looked for some good pictures on the internet but I couldn't find any.

    Should be on the top!

I put the breather in the cubby in the bed of the truck ( cleaned out the dust)
    IMG_0025.jpg
    IMG_0027.jpg
Ran the hose along the frame down to the union zip tied all the way down and zip the remaining hose to the wiring harness off the diff and left some acesss hose for axel sway dip I put the spare tire back before I took pictures

    Thank god for these

I should be fine with that I don't have a snorkel so I'm not planing on doing real deep water crossings
I just did this mod for just in case I have to go threw water over the diff

For anyone else doing this I strongly suggest safety glasses
When running the hose and zip tying into place you drop a lot of dirt I'm lucky I didn't get any in my eyes ......I eat a lot of the dirt a lot of spitting

Make sure you have enough slack in your house for full droop. Otherwise you'll rip the hose or break something else.

I got 6 feet of the hose I'm hopping there's enough left over for the droop

Edit - Thinking about the time it took for this was just dropping and raising the spare tire

Anyone had their steering shaft linkage start to bind up on them and replace the small ujoint with something a little tougher? I am going to clean and grease it up tomorrow, but I would like to have a more permanent solution.

I replaced the whole intermediate shaft. I got it from toyota parts direct. Toyota here wanted something like 500 dollars for the part. I got it shipped for 250

the Family Taco Thread, the buddy in there was thinking about using an ATV U-Joint, Dont think he ever actually did it, while doing a frame replacement, the dealer said it was fine, so he stopped looking. Shame, I'd love to know a part number for just the U-joint.

everyone is making me look bad with getting their mods done, I've had the diff breather parts for a looong time, not to mention my LED bar that's sitting in my basement. perhaps the nicer weather will get me motivated.

with everyone talking about sliding bed drawers, and kick-ass military trailer conversions, anyone ever try ( or see on TW ) someone making their own "softtopper/Bestop/RTT"??

I keep thinking it can't be that hard with some conduit, and a conduit bender, some canvas or tent material, but never really seen it done.

I am sure you can pull it off. And then I'll steal all your good ideas to make a killer awning / annex for my trailer.

What do you think, is it warm enough to paint today? I have decided to park the trailer until I can get it painted inside and out, and get the axle swapped. Also, I have the stud mount lunette in the mail so I need to get moving on that...

For paint to adhere and cure properly you want it to be at least +15 out.

I am going to clean and lube the thing today as a quick fix. But I am going to take measurements and probably order a beefier U-joint. Summit has a wide selection of different joints, so I should be able to find something that will outlast the truck.

I think I am gonna paint anyway. Need this done so I can use it when fishing and camping with the kids really picks up. I am not so fussy about the bed, I will be much more careful when I paint the exterior.

Why did I buy a house without garage?

Common sense prevails, I completed the prep work on the inside of the tub and then tarped it until the weather warms.

this was a requirement when we were looking. had to have one, no if's and's or but's. To my wife's credit, when the realator tried to stick my workshop into an un-finished corner of this one house with zero outside access, she's the one that told the realtor to keep looking. Within 2 weeks we had our current house

it may only be 12 x 24, but it sure does get the job done! so if your thinking of buying a house **cough** @TacoMitch93 **Cough** get a garage right away! priorities tend to change once your in a house. I have too many friends that said they would build a garage, and never done so.

The house I'm interested in has one! I'm going to the bank tomorrow for a preapproval!

Who wants to help me move my tool box if everything works out?

I'm super excited. On the plus side, I dont have that much stuff!

If everything falls into place and the house ends up being what we want, I could be a home owner before the end of the month!
