Dealer ended up installing the silencer kit on my truck couple days ago. So far so good. No squeaking.

Does it qualify for the tsb? I've got like 1,200 on mine. Very disappointing.

Someone here said they were having trouble, my dealer said they knew about it and had the parts, I’m waiting until my 5k service to do it. I’m at about 4K now

Could you post about it on here when you get it done? I'm in New England (VT) and I swear this region always gets things last.

I am in MA and will update after I get it done. Might call to schedule today because I need an alignment and balance too it seems.

I am in Florida and I got my 2018 done two weeks ago. They installed the silencer kit that they used on the 16 and the 17 models. I have less than 3000 miles on it. It took three visits and a call to California to get it done. Dealer didn't have the kit, they had it shipped overnight. There is no TSB on it yet, according to Toyota. But they had to fix it somehow.

Took my truck to the dealership today and the service advisor knew exactly what I was there for just by pulling up and him hearing the squeak. Damn squeaking is about to drive me insane. Got the parts ordered so hopefully tomorrow it will be fixed.

can anyone advise under what specific conditions you hear this squeak? I have one that happens when my right front wheel hits a bump or pothole. i cant reproduce it by bouncing it in the driveway, it needs a good thump, but the dealer claims they were able to hear it on the lift. it is more of a chirp than a squeak. it seems worse when its colder and drier. it was at the dealer for 4 days, where they replaced a body mount and the upper strut mount on that side. neither fixed it and they said they had to call in a toyota field tech. I now have not heard from them since last Monday, despite leaving a voicemail on thu and then again on fri.

I can hear it all the time. When I put it in park, when I step on the tailgate, when I go over a bump...literally anytime they are doing anything they squeak. It is a very obvious thing.

Also, it's the leaf springs, which are in the rear....so your front tire has nothing to do with it.

that's what I figured, but I'm getting desperate. hope yours is fixed soon, at least you know what it is! i can assure you my chirp is equally infuriating, as is my dealer experience this far. blah

Yeah, all the noise on new trucks is pretty annoying. I am getting mine fixed in a week or two when I do my 5000 mile service. Hopefully they can figure yours out too!

My stealership told me last week that corporate rolled back the TSB and is no longer installing for the time being. I'm going to trudge on without it as I am currently installing mods for a slide in camper which I'm sure they will say it's my fault it's squeaking.

My dealership fixed mine via the tsb with no questions asked. They have to be lying or I just have a generous dealership.

I have a 30k service due in about a month... perhaps I will rattle some cages and see what I come up with. The attached picture will be their strongest weapon!
