Catron County in the south west of the State. Thanks for the welcomes. I've been lurking for a while. Too bad I missed @BigFishAllDay's trip to Magdalena area I could have made it up there. I'll try and make a trip some time.

So I went and looked at this truck yesterday. Price was on point and still very unsure (might be a sign not to get it). Drove it, all seemed well - manual would take some getting used to as it is not like a stick shift car, long and not as fun, might get tired of it after awhile. The back bumper was pushed in on the driver side and slanted down, not sure if it was backed into something but there was no damage on the bumper. Also there were some nicks and scratches here and there and inside the driver door jam there was paint missing from the top corner of the door and pillar - from closing the door too hard? Also a nice gash in the rear passenger rim.

Guy's have thoughts? Maybe I am just too attached to my current truck and any other truck will seem inferior

Check the VIN to see if it is a salvage. They may have replaced a few things to cover more extensive problems. Here is a free VIN checker:

Make them give you a more comprehensive report for free if you want to move forward.

If I was looking, I'd be looking hard at that one. Not sure about the blemishes but all the basics I'd want are there... except maybe a blower...:mudding:

Oh shit didn’t even know that was a thing. Man bet that would make it awesome.

Price is on point! The features as well! Just nervous about spending that much I guess since haven’t spent over 7k for a vehicle.

Think I accidentally spoke to soon around the house about the manual and convinced my wife that an automatic would be better haha

Unfortunately I think I am passing on this one and would like to save up a little more, not wanting to make rash decisions on a big purchase. Can find something else somewhere else by the end of the summer

New to the forum. Thought I'd be a bit more active on TW. Long time member to TW but havn't posted much, much because I just read the posts and I have my answer. Don't really like to add to another lift question, or wheel tire comments. But, nonetheless, I'm here and thought I'd say "Hello". :transformer:

Hello NM Peeps! My first post since joining!

Any recommendations for a reputable pro shop that does 4.88 Gear installation regularly within the Albuquerque area?!?!?!
SDHQ is all over this forum as the place to go for Mods of all types and levels but I don't have time to drive to AZ for a week or so waiting for install or a back and forth option.....thanks in advance!

    I have too many Toyotas...
Everything... and a bag of Cheetos.
I've been making trade-offs with tires since I got into this 4WD business... this time I figured I'd accept the tradeoffs in a different direction. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks man. I had a lot of people recommend the ST Maxx, but I didn't want another set of AT tires. To this day, my favorite all around tire has been the GY Duratrac, but when GY went to the 2 ply sidewall they killed it for me. My original DTs had 3 ply sidewalls and I never had a single issue with them. Maybe someday they'll do a re-design.

Welcome from me as well. I hope you can make it out someday.

Hello! Welcome to the NM thread.

I have never had gears setup by anyone in ABQ. I send my stuff to East Coast Gear Supply because they are fast, competitively priced, and have outstanding customer service.

I think U-Joints does gear setups, and of course you have 4WheelParts and Desert Rat, but I personally wouldn't let those guys near my rig. No real experience there, but they remind me of the WalMarts of the aftermarket industry.

    Very sweet ride!

Out of curiosity. I just helped my friend swap out upper control arms. What upper arms did you use, if any?

Thanks! I'm running SPC/Light Racing UCAs on my rig. I like them for their adjustability and the sealed ball joint.

I saw my turtle "Lil Chompers" yesterday; he just emerged from hibernation. He looks OK, healthy. :dancingbacon: Haven't seen his brother or sister yet, nor his mom & dad. :turtleride:

FAAACK! And these winds are supposed to stick around until tonight. Starting early this year. Doesn't bode well for fire season.
