How about PVC glue or krazy glue? Dude, I had a slice in my thumb the other day doing those drains. I got some of the PVC primer in it. Burned sooo bad. Had to tough it out too, the water was turned off

Does your trauma kit include a tourniquet or two? If not, I highly recommend you add some.

I carry one of these on me at all times while at work. Never know when it might save a life! They even make nifty belt carriers for them if you wanted to go that route.

It used to be they were only used as a last resort, but the medical fields opinion of them has shifted. Now they say to get them on as quick as possible and they can stay on for up to 8 hours without lasting negative effects. Surgeons are even using them to control blood lose while on the operating table.

If you do ever apply one to yourself or someone else. Write the time on their forehead so medical personnel have no doubt about its application time.

 

You could maybe get a belt to work..but chances are not well enough. You'd be surprised at the amount of pressure it takes to cut off blood flow completely to an extremity. We practice with tourniquets regularly and even cinching the strap all the way down to start, it takes several windings of the windless rod to have the tourniquet be effective.

When you get one on right, it is the most uncomfortable feeling in the world, but it beats dying.

 

If you can get the tourniquet around it, you can use it there. (Minus the neck for obvious reasons....)

Oh shit yeah that stuff burns like hell. So does soldering flux. Never ever get that stuff in a cut hahaha
