TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Anyone else running a 76mm tb notice a smoother idle? I might be slightly lower in rpm by a needle width but i swear mine runs better.

 

Could you please post a picture of how you mounted it? Maybe I'm just dense but I'm having a tough time visualizing that.

Interesting. I'm usually over 8psi but lately I'm lucky to break 4-5. My belt is in pretty poor shape and it slips, so once I replace it at some point this week hopefully my boost will return to normal. For me at least.

I might have to take you up on that offer.

 

They’re pretty solid laptops. The one I use for work sees a lot of use. If you buy one, you’ll probably want to replace the battery. The ones I have needed new batteries. But the batteries are like $30 in Amazon.

I have the 70mm but it’s not installed right now. I took it off to do some cleaning and adjusting, so I have the 65mm one on for now.

Here is something also interesting: for the past few months, during hard acceleration, SOMETHING is being buffetted by the wind. Or maybe it's a ridiculously loud exhaust leak. All I hear is "pfth pfth pfth" from my passenger side somewhere.

 

Better buy a new exhaust to be on the safe side.

That belt tensioner was pretty ingenious.

@loginfailed, can you repost those part numbers for the 70 and 76 mm TB’s? This time I’ll save them.

 

More throttle bodies fit than listed. Any 07 and newer tundra will fit. Mine wasnt on any list.

I hear the exact same noise sometimes. But cant hear it outside the truck

 

Although unpleasant, I'm a little thankful I am not the only one who hears this mystery noise. It's not consistent either. I thought that perhaps from where the boost tubing enters the firewall on the passenger side, but I used a rubber grommet to seal the hole and it's pretty secure. Maybe I need to change the general set up, but I still need to examine everything at this point.

 

Its not consistent for me either. Sometimes Im against highwalls and can clearly hear it, other times it not there at all

I hear it too. Thought it was the urd clamped connection or the donut between the urd pipe and my cat back.

 

What mm is that?

 

Is your urd ypipe where it mounts to the cat back fully welded around? I noticed mine is only welded on the bottom half and there is a lot of black soot there. Also where the clamp is but that’s understandable.

Also lightning has the 76MM throttlebody
