Seems like this option will be more expensive in the long run. Its interesting that people are purchasing these without even knowing the specs. There is nothing special about these tweeters, in fact, you see the small little "K" badge on the tweeter? That means its made by Kicker, but sold as an OEM subbie speaker with a higher price.

2nd Gen guy Jumping in to comment. Crutchfield will likely tell you that the above Kicker component set won’t work, citing the woofer (6x9) being too large.

I had them send me the set and they fit perfectly in my ‘13 and sound freaken awesome. I’m not 100% but think the doors specs are close if not similar.

Agreed. I think I saw the set for $125 online? I have them also and they sound great.

Most people on this forum are aware the Subaru tweeters are made by Kicker (as designated by the K). That is fairly common knowledge. Many are willing to pay a small upcharge for the plug and play capability, and markedly better sound vs. stock. Toyota owns 16.5% of Subaru, so there are probably some other common parts to both manufacturers.

Seems like a huge upcharge for splicing 2 wires. Also, you can get a complete front end speaker upgrade (woofers and tweeters) for $35 more than the cost of just these tweeters, which are not any better than most of the major brand name tweeters on the market (150w RMS).

I read your crys and concerns...

The Subie Kicker tweeters are plug and play, no splicing. They fit the bolts and are nearly identical in overall dimensions.
Which is why the upgrade is so popular. It’s easy.

I agree. There really aren’t any specifications anywhere.

The upgrade I’m doing on my truck are a set of Alpine SPR-10TW tweeters. I bought the harness adapters on eBay and they are being shipped from China. Which should arrive today.
I 3D printed my own plate adaptors.
I just installed RF P1694 on the front doors. I forgot to take a picture of the upgrade.

My upgrade really is more hands on vs the kicker upgrade. Now I’m trusting Alpine to deliver with quality over the kickers.

Update. My custom adapter and Ebay tweeter harness fit like a glove. I finished installing last night and boy Does it sound sweet.
I'm definately going to enjoy my commutes more now.

I also checked Amazon, the price of the Alpine tweeters has gone up $25. So I'm pretty happy I purchased before hand and got the tweeter harnesses basically for free.

    See post #26.

My truck has the Entune Premium unit w/Nav(not JBL) and is the same as all non-JBL systems.

You bought tweeters and full range speakers (4 way). So you essentially have 2 pairs of tweeters in the front. Did you do that on purpose? Why not stick with components? I've never heard of running multiple tweeters in the front

The purpose of running multiple tweeters is to not have an abate tone where you have the same
drivers(aka, speaker/tweeter) with the same certain frequency response.

My theory and experience is that mixing brands of speakers have resulted in the best overall spectrum of music.
Different brands and models of speakers have different strengths and weeknesses.

Which by the way, my current system is working like a dream although it can use more power... maybe a power pack from ALPINE one day.

I went with the alpine tweeters because I have heard alpine amplifiers and speakers they really have clear highs. So I went with the alpine tweeters.
For the door speakers. I went with the fosgates because I don't think I have ever heard a fosgate distort at high volumes.
I also still own two 12" Fosgate P3 subwoofers that can make you feel like you float. So I figured I would get a really solid
low end response from the fosgates without distortion and I can tell you that I'm not disappointed.

ON the Lexus IS Mark Levinson audio package.
You can see they depict several different size speakers... multiple midrange, multiple tweeters, one subwoofer.
This is to make sure that you get the best audio anywhere you are in the vehicle. And it also ensures that there
is no tone that is "hidden"

I will have some direct plug and play tweeters for sale in a few days. They feature custom 3D printed adapters and CT Sounds Meso tweeters.

I guess I had meant in a Tacoma, which has a basic 6 speaker setup. If you're going to mirror this, I have nothing to add. That's beyond what I've worked with in the past. Good luck, I bet it will sound amazing.

I don't plan to mirror this.... don't tempt me haha

But now that I have mids and highs at the door and highs at the top,
I feel like I can hear every tone from any type of Music I throw at it.

Definately worth it for me and was happy with the result.
