Hey guys I’m considering using kamp rite double tent cot and just trying to decide if it will be comfortable enough for my use. I have read that there is a bar in the middle that makes using it for just one person very uncomfortable. Also I’m 6,3 so does anyone know if I’ll have enough room to sleep?

I just recently mounted a double tent cot made by kamprite to a pair of Tacomapocalypse bed bars and it works great! It mounted with four u bolts within maybe 10 minutes of not even knowing if it was going to work. Added grommets to the windows so I could add steel spring poles to hold the windows open.

How did you modify the bag so it will go over the tent when attached to the bars?

I just cut the bag and added some 3/8” grommets to it to keep it bungeed down. I only did this because I’m going to have a cover made for it so I had no use for the bag anymore but it works.

My mom is going to make one lol but the cover I have on it now will work until it rips I guess. We had a really dry winter this year in New Mexico so I’m assuming rain really won’t be a problem either lol I actually put a tarp underneath the cover to protect the tent better and it’s rained on it once and never touched the tent.

I’d do it for now makes it look a lot cleaner than just a tarp on it like I had on it at first lol

Agree. And it is sized perfectly already. No need to hassle around with being sure shit is cut straight and exact.
The place that Chad posted up a few pages back may work well too.

I saw a guy last weekend that had one mounted to the top of his 4 seat Razor. Had the thing kitted out pretty similar to how most of us had out trucks. Kinda wild.

i've seen these tent cots, my buddy has one as well as an RTT. Never would have thought to use this as the RTT. I still need some bed rails though i don't have anything back there that would support it.
