I understand that. When I was looking into a tailgate cap, yours had the better design for my use. In your thread, it was mentioned that your previous PCer who was doing the wrinkle finish had caused a whole bunch of issues and that you had switched to a new supplier and all would good. Obviously you didn't know that this was going to happen again but it did. Once you said you switched PCers, I bought your product. Then while people were posting pictures and discussing the rust in your thread, you were ignoring them and continued to promote your product.

I don't ignore people, but I also hardly ever read forum posts. I'm a one man show and don't have time for it. When I bump a sales thread, I just bump it and move on with the day.

Also, TW isn't our customer service department. We're very active on here, but the best way to get service is to contact us directly.

EDIT: Also, sometimes I'll be out doing something and check TW to see if anybody needs anything, and forget about what I read by the time I get home. There's no way to mark a PM or a post as unread on here. Direct email is the best way to contact us.

Keep up the good work. I've been following the threads and seeing the comments and most of us think you're doing a great job. Just continue to pump out your quality products and your customers will be your advertising

I respect the one man show and I'm still a believer in your products and design. I was just bringing it to your attention in the thread when the other fella mentioned the same problems I was having.

The tailgate cap isn't that big of deal, and it's just as easy for me to take care of it. I still think my harsher climate doesn't help anything either, hell my JBA ball joint assemblies are loaded with surface rust after a year.

I think folks wished you had acknowledged a problem sooner.

... I sent 3 messages and called and left a voicemail when the issue originally came up. Got nothing. The only thing I got was a comment on the sale thread saying it was due to living in the vicinity of the coast (which is BS because all my other powder coated stuff is fine after 3 years)

Are you saying that you are still willing to make things right? Im willing to change my standpoint if you're still up for fixing things.

Actually Chad, there is for PM's...
Unlike most other Vendors I do business exclusively here on TW and the PM system is my ordering process. Above the messages and below the forum banner are a number of options - one of them is "Mark as Unread".
Sometimes I'll go through PM's on my iPhone or iPad just to read through them however I nearly always reply from my PC. Just so I don't forget a message I'll mark them as unread so they are highlighted in bold when I go back in. :D
Doesn't work for regular posts though.

Good looking rack, but its not high enough for the RTT I am interested in. Looks like @Dissent86 has the only rack I could find that would allow the ikamper to clear the shark fin.

Sand blast, zinc enriched primer and a top coat is the only way I have been able to get a good long lasting finish on steel. The problem is the cost will at least double. The aluminum takes power a lot better, actually a lot of the powder maufactures will not warrant their powder unless it is applied to aluminum.
I have found the bko1 cardinal powder to be much more durable and clean much easier that the smooth finish.
For a vendor powder coat is an extremely difficult thing! I have had my fair share of botched powder coat jobs coaters rarely make it right, leaving the vendor eating the cost which can be devastating for a small business.
I have no affiliation nor any dealing with kbvoodo personally but have seen how helpful and active they have been on this forum and seen the great products they offer. I can only imagine how stressful this has to be as a vendor and hope everything works out for kbvoodo!
One thing I will say is give these guys a break and opportunity to make it right, also don't expect your entire product to be replaced due to bad coating. I'm sure the reason the vendor did more for the first customers with problems is they could, and hadn't realized the scope of the powder coaters mistake yet. I know there is no way they will be able to send everyone a new rack that has had coating issues, this would likely put them out of business which imo would be a big loss for this community!
I wish @KB Voodoo the best and hope others looking at this thread will take into consideration the 100s of good reviews these guys have on here.

My rack is starting to peel around the edges as well. I bought it 2 months ago and it has yet to go off-roading. Only an RTT has been placed on it and 2 days ago @Shikokaon pointed to several spots on the rack where the PC was coming off in sheets.

I got told it wasn’t really apart of the bubble issue and to sand and repaint those spots on my own. While doing so today I noticed more spots that were just peeling off as well.

I get it PC isn’t magic, but my shitty rattle can job on mhm HC rear seems to be holding up better and that thing has taken some dings.

Needless to say I’m disappointed and will eventually switch to RCI once I save up money again.

For now I’m just hoping to catch anything else and repaint it as it happens to prevent any rust so I can sell it later down the road.

    That’s all I got.

Talked to Chad, he offered two solutions.

Partial Refund or replacement parts. Please note that long bed mid height parts are on not stocked currently.

Yup thats exactly what happened to me. I got told the same thing too, Partial refund of less than half than it would cost to recoat, or replacement parts (which they supposedly 'short on parts') so who knows how long it'll be till that happens :notsure:.

I was thinking about washing my rack with soapy water when it arrives and applying clearcoat to prevent rust. Do you think the clearcoat would even bond well? Might this help or is it a useless effort?

I looked at a few kbvoodoo products but swore them off after reading their remote start thread. I use forums to share information and when they took that info, created a product to sell and then deleted anything they contributed to the discussion, they lost me as a customer for life. I think the guy is shady af, not surprised to see a thread like this.

It may not 100% sure though. Probably be better off doing a rattle can job as that seems more stout than the PC, but he doesn’t offer bare. Or honestly if you can cancel your order and go with a better rack and just save yourself the hassle. That’s what I wish I would’ve done looking back on it
