Current setup bulb is a H1 bulb inwhich they burn out every 2 weeks leaves the bulb completely black. Also they daylight running lights are starting to cause a burn spot in the new headlamps is there a lower temp bulb remedy out there to fix this??

Just standard H1s not running any ballasts, just wire to wire with factory H1s they aren't high performance LEDS or HDs

heres a great fix that will last you years and will looks 10 times better. 1st, get rid of those headlights, order 2 regular headlight assembly for $50 online. 2nd apply a bead of silicone to keep water out, 3rd buy a led kit for $40, slap them in and bammmmm you got yourself a solid, reliable and bright headlight

if they are cheapo's off of those mentioned above you are not going to have good quailty. That being said The bulbs blowing should have nothing to do with the projector itself. It will be either your wiring harness or the truck giving the bulb to much power

**Edit: Id also get LED turnsignal bulbs. they dont get as hot and should save you some of the lens burning**

The H1 bulb is a halogen bulb, which contains a single filament that uses 55 watts at 12 volts. The H4 bulb is a dual-filament halogen bulb that uses 60 or 55 watts at 12 volts, depending on which filament is in use. So this could be your issue that your truck is pushing the wrong wattage to your bulbs. If you are content with the projectors you have i would get some good quality HID bulbs and ballasts with the correct wiring harness and go with that. They will put the correct power to the bulb and be brighter than halogen. Now if the projectors are built for only Halogen you may have to figure out a way to have the lower voltage.

The subject of running LED or HID replacement bulbs in housings designed for halogens has been covered many, many times in the Lighting forum here. That said, the words "solid, reliable and bright" are not associated with the results. The following thread may enlighten you:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...alogen-reflectors.454371/page-4#post-16988929

Getting back to the OP's issue, the best advice I can offer is something my father taught me years ago. "When you buy a cheap tool, all you get is a cheap tool." The same goes for automotive lighting.

OP appears to have projectors, so it’s not like putting HID bulbs into a reflector housing. Some halogen projectors do ok with HID bulbs.

Edit: As an example, these lights do well with either halogen bulbs (which they’re designed for) or HID bulbs (which they also sell them with at a higher price).

    Not nice retrofit lights...

I am not sure actually a HID kit will fit in these not much space... :(

The HIDS are to big around to fit in the housing and the LEDs are to long to clamp down in the housing.. I dunno.. I might sell these.

Here are your lights with HIDs as an option, maybe ask them what bulbs fit?

Or just sell and get some retrofits :D

Oh, you did a retrofit with halogens?

    I thought u meant h1based hid.

I wasnt aware ppl did projector retrofits and left a halogen in them.

    My mistake.

What kit did you use? An hid should fit fine.... many have done it over the years.

    Those are OPs?
So they are the ones we spoke of, ebay/carid/spyder?
Just another name to add to the list?

$200 or $300 never buys a good new light.
