Limited Door Handle Covers?

Has anyone found a way to get rid of the chrome on the limited door handles?


I have color matched mirror covers to get rid of the chrome mirrors, so the only chrome left is going to be the wheels and door handles.
Haven't figured out wheels yet, but that is just a decision to make. I can't find anything for the handles.
Anyone have something or an idea?

Just found those. They may work.

 

Maybe get some color matched vinyl for them and cover them up. Need to probably take the handle off first by removing the inner door panel. To bad @rrentrop doesn't make a cover up kit on this.

 

That is a good idea. I will look into that too.

 

I have been looking at trying to find something as well. Since the Limited is only the top cover piece, plasti dip is an option, just don’t know how to safely remove them yet

 

You do not have to remove to dip it...just tape it off.

 

I looked at it, it may work. I will probably give it a try in the next couple weeks. Thanks

I dipped mine, it looks stock. Pretty easy, just need patience

OK... i'm doing this. Did the Side mirror caps already... came out "ok".

assume you taped all around. Any issues with the keyless entry on the drivers side?

looks like you used glossifier as well?

 

Mine came out AWESOME and even look really good after two yrs.

I also dipped the fog bezels.

 

Question for you two, since it’s a high usage part of your car, any updates on how long it’s been versus wear n tear, chips or scratches to the handle portion that’s been dipped?

My concerns with this method is longevity, and I also have a wife that has a lot of rings, and a manicured set of hands every week, my other ride looks like a raccoon tried endlessly to get into the car...(the part of the door behind the handles) the only thing I plastidipped was the logos and emblems but everything else I bought the black part or body colored because I don’t want to deal with maintenance because the lower valence part of the bumper (think TRD off-road or PRO) faces the road directly not to mention the fog bezels and the side view mirror covers...I didn’t want to take the cost efficient route for those so I actually replaced them with parts from other trims, but since the handles are not facing the road, I’d take a chance if hands weren’t continuously using it..

How long have they been dipped?
How are they holding up so far?
Any regrets dipping your handles?

Did you guys have to prep that smooth chrome for plasti dip adherence aside from wiping it clean with rubbing alcohol? The chrome surface seems too smooth for anything to stick to it...

Anybody done this on white limited with black handles....and have pics?

 

Why buy the limited, if you don’t like all the chrome?

 

Because we like the trim, and the chrome can be replaced or removed.
